Story
Neutered male "Duke" e.stimated born 11/23. He is delightful and everyone who sees him says "OHH he is so pretty". He is chocolate, cream with some white. German Shephard mix maybe with lab. He is intelligent and playful, loves to cuddle and give kisses. He is doing really well with housetraining. He loves all other dogs and although he has a "big bark" he is sweet and has shown no signs of agrression even when my 6 other dogs get hostile with him. He wants to please and be a "good boy". I let him out loose on our 7 acre property and he stays around the house to go potty and comes when I call him. He won't be as large as a full size shepherd but will be midsized dog. Don't over look him, he is having a great time here since I got him from Moore County Shelter and has done nothing wrong. He has all of his shots even "lepto" and is very healthy. Feel free to come visit him! He is a delightful dog and very people oriented. Trial period OK! Please consider this sweetie!

Story
This goofy handsome boy was thrown from a moving car but has retained his sweet good nature. Goose loves meal time and playing with toys and always wants to be first in line for treats. He does guard his crate or dog bed from dominant dogs and his bark is a strong one, but he is not aggressive . In fact Goose is bullied by the foster's resident dog and that is why we must find him a peaceful caring new foster or new home. Goose likes to be center of attention but if you ignore him for a few minutes he will settle down and play in his bed with his toys. This is a very sweet dog! His foster writes, "Goose likes to snuggle, doesn't mind baths and loves to play in the water bucket. He loves a water hose and swimming pool in the summer. He will play fetch with most any item and bring it back. He always has a smile on his face even when he doesn't feel great. He knows how to sit, lay down and get his toys (he has one in particular we call Goose’s baby) and knows 'night night' means time to sleep. He is for the most part house trained and crate trained and will let you know when he has to go out." He is extremely inquisitive and has learned to open cabinets, go into closets and showers looking to see what is inside them. His foster says, "Goose is extremely funny to be around His favorite past time is trying to help wash dishes or if you leave the bathroom door open he will get into the shower with you as he loves to play in water!" Goose will need to live with a submissive dog if you have already have dog since we don't want him bullied. No young kids since he will herd them. Now for the medical details: Goose has hereditary bilateral hip dysplasia that is and anal paralysis due to being thrown, but he is bowl trained if kept on a lower protein low fat diet; we can discuss with you. He takes gabapetin, Galaprant and another long acting pain med daily but the vet says he is extremely healthy otherwise. We provide full medical records. He needs a fenced yard to avoid taking long walks and to be able to bask in the sun. Goose needs mental stimulation since he is highly intelligent. His foster will give you lost of suggestions. This is a lovely sweet dog for a special caring household. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We prefer a fenced yard, but this is not required for all of our dogs. We transport by land or air whenever possible.July 26, 2024, 12:42 pm

Story
Beckham is a three-year-old, 55-pound, German Shepherd and Black Mouth Cur Mix. FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED. Beckham is 3-year-old German Shepherd and Blackmouth Cur who weighs 55 pounds. If football icon David Beckham had a dog, we’re pretty sure he’d be a lot like our Beckham. With his classic British name, his ruggedly handsome face and those ever- alert ears, Beckham is an up-for-every-adventure kind of boy. Like his soccer-legend namesake, Beckham just naturally draws a crowd of admirers. Affectionate, playful, brave, and loyal, this smart boy is always ready for a game of ball, a good walk, a spin in the car or just a snuggle on the couch. With so much goodness in his nature, you might ask, “What is Beckham best at?” The answer is simple: Beckham is best at being your Best Friend! And while Beckham can be perfectly content with just you, he will also thrive with an active family, a big, fenced yard and (if it’s not too much to ask) a playful lady dog. Trained by one of the best, Beckham is an absolute joy and had excellent house, crate and leash manners, as well as basic commands and overall happy behavior. So, if you’d love a bit of British flair and fun in your life, please don’t wait. Come meet Beckham today. And let the games begin! Beckham is not part of CrisisDogsNC. This is a courtesy posting on behalf of his foster. This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog's description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. We do not respond to questions about our dogs sent through email or social media. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Story
Hemingway is a 6 year-old, 86lb German Shephard. Meet Hemingway! He got off to a rough start but even after being neglected he's still such a happy boy. He came to us severely underweight, and so we can expect him to get bigger now that he's being loved by his foster mom. Hemingway would do best with an experienced German Shephard owner, and definitely needs a fenced in yard or a lot of leashed walks so that he can burn off all his energy safely. He does great with other dogs, and walks "like a dream" on a leash. If you think you'd like to show Hemingway forever love, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!July 26, 2024, 12:42 pm

Story
Franklin is 2 years old and 45 lbs. Franklin, affectionately known as Mr. Peabody by his fosters, is truly one of the best! He gets along with everyone, is submissive and easy going, and is just a perfect gentleman. Franklin absolutely loves being with people and hopes to find a forever family who will include him in all the fun! He does have some separation anxiety and really would love to find a family who is home more often than not and can help work with him on his confidence. He loves playing with other dogs, although he is lower energy in general, and is very good on walks, especially when meeting new dogs and people. He is still learning how to walk on a leash, but he is doing well with that too. He loves the kids in his foster home and is even great with the resident cats! How could he be more perfect? Oh, and he is potty-trained and has wonderful house manners. He is truly "move in ready"!  Franklin can't get enough of his stuffed toys and happily chases them around the room if you will indulge him in a game of catch! He is an expert snuggler and will gladly show off his skills on the couch right next to you. If this perfect boy sounds like a good fit for your family, apply to meet him today! Story
Sheba's owners moved away and left her tied and pregnant. Sheba sadly entangled her legs in the make shift tie out and lost circulation to one of her legs, losing her toe nails. She had been treated with medication and laser therapy and the wounds have healed but she still has some scarring. Everyone who meets Sheba loves her. Her gentle and loving personality wins everyone over. She is one of the favorites at the vet's office. Sheba likes to stay busy so a fenced yard or even farm life would be great for her. She is wonderful with other dogs and respectful of cats. She is being exposed to horses in her foster home as well. Could you be Sheba's happy ending? All our dogs/cats are vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, on preventions, and spayed/neutered if old enough.
