Story
Dozer is 2 years old with lots of energy. Trained on invisible fence and house trained. We are unable to keep him as he had knocked down my husband's elderly mother who lives with us and we are afraid she will get hurt. He is very affectionate and loves people and other animals.

Story
Captain is incredibly sweet, smart, sensitive, loyal and protective. My living situation has changed and my work schedule has increased, while he’s alone all day. He loves to run in the woods, go on walks (he’s great on a leash!) and snuggle. He is very attached and has some separation anxiety. He deserves someone who can spend more time with him. He can be territorial at the door, but is currently receiving training for that. He will need to be in a home where the training can be reinforced. He knows a lot of commands, and is happy when he has a job to do. He aims to please. It breaks my heart to re-home him, but I know he’d be happier with a family that has more time to be with him. He is free to a good home, including all his treats, bowls, food, toys, kennel, bed and leashes.

Story
Beautiful Bella. This girl is affectionate, happy, good on a leash, and very curious of her surroundings. She rides well in a car and is a great size, around 30 pounds. Bella prefers to be the only dog in the home and she has a high prey drive. She is going to make a wonderful companion for someone who is looking for their best friend! All puppies under 6 months are $200 and all dogs from 6 months to 6 years are $85.00 and up. The adoption fee is dependent on many factors including age, behavior, medical condition and demand. All dogs 7 years and older are free under our Saving Seniors program. We frequently run special and occasionally a dog will be more than the stated fee. Most cats and kittens are $35.00, however there may be instances in which the fee is higher or lower, due to age, behavior, medical condition or demand. With felines, we always have an ""Adopt one, bring another one home for free"" adoption special!

Story
Coco is a good dog. He loves playing with bouncing balls in the yard. House trained; can spend many hours inside the house without destroying anything. He gets along with our two daughters (8 yr and 14 month old). He is trained to walk on leash without pulling, but does react when he encounters unknown dogs. He will need a yard where he can run and play with his balls.

These pets are NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pets or apply to adopt these pets on the MPR website.  Contact mysweetboysrr@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pets.RUGER, and his brother, REBEL, were adopted into our family at 8 weeks old from a private breeder.  They were born January 14, 2017. Their dad is German Shepherd, and their mom is Belgian Malinois. They are the best of buddies... Very closely bonded to each other, having never been apart, and, ideally, should remain together when they find their new furever home. They enjoy playing with each other and are extremely loving and affectionate with their human(s) including people that they encounter for the first time.Ruger says, "I am a lover boy. I like to greet you with a kiss on the hand. My favorite game is chasing (and ambushing) my brother while he is playing fetch with Mom. I like to give and receive hugs and enjoy walks on the leash.  Sometimes I get jealous of my brother, so I do best having my own space.  Mom and Dad partitioned our outdoor kennel so we can sleep and eat separately.  I really want to stay with my brother, since we have been best buddies since birth!"Rebel says:  "I am an expressive, playful and lovable boy. Play fetch with me, and you'll be my favorite person on the planet. I can jump really high, inside my kennel, when I get excited to see you. I like to take walks on the leash and sniff all the wonderful aromas around me.  I love to be hugged on and wrestled with. I enjoy running and playing with my brother around the yard and am also really happy when I can come inside the house on cold, damp days.  I am sweet and easy going and want to be your companion."Both boys have had little to no exposure or experience with cats and young children.  Both would do well with reward-based training for basic commands as they are very eager to please.  Both are trained to stay within the yard using the PetSafe Wireless Fence system. If you have a German Shepherd, you know how intelligent they are. But did you know they’re the third-smartest dog breed? Poodle and Border Collies have them beat in the brains department, but you’d never know it.Stanley Coren, author of the book “The Intelligence of Dogs,” states that German Shepherds will learn a new task after only five repetitions and respond to commands correctly 95% of the time. This explains why they’ve become so popular as police dogs.Contact me today at mysweetboysrr@gmail.com to learn more about sweet Rebel and Ruger. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. June 3, 2023, 3:31 pm

Story
This is Rosie. She is a female German Shephard/Pit mix that is between 3 and 4 years old. I have had her for about 4 years now. She gets along great with adults and kittens, but not other female dogs and especially not small dogs of any kind. She loves to sit with her owner and cuddle and sleep in the bed at the foot at night without problem. She is not on a special diet and only eats one time a day regular dog food either dry or wet. She has been mainly an inside dog since I got her with normal outside time to use the restroom and go for walks. She is leash and harness trained. She will inform you if someone is on the property. I just cannot handle her anymore and I now have inherited another female dog Rosie does not get along with this dog at all, they have to be separated at all times due to fighting each other. She is very loving towards humans.
