This pointy-eared girl is Miss Juniper. Juniper was found a few months ago as a stray outside of Ney. To everyone's surprise, she did not end up getting reclaimed by her previous folks and has been hanging out with us while we try to find her a forever family. Upon arrival, we learned that Juniper was heartworm positive and she immediately began treatment. She has been an absolute rock-star and completed treatment with ease. Juniper feels like a brand new pup and you could never tell that she had been sick. She has a very outgoing and energetic personality, true to her breed. We think she would do best in a home with no super small children as she can get a little mouthy when playing and she is an independent spirit that likes to do her own thing. Juniper is pretty strong on leash and due to her arrival as a stray, we would strongly suggest a fenced yard or someone willing to take daily walks with her. She has been a little reactive to some of the more "intense" shelter dogs so any canine introductions should be slow and controlled. Have you ever seen such a handsome dog?This is Silas! Silas was found running as a stray and was never reclaimed by his previous humans. We are guessing he is around 3 years old and he's as healthy as a horse! Silas can be cautious when meeting new people and does best with slow, easy introductions. Based on his reactions to the other dogs, introductions with them will also have to be slow! We think he would do best in a home with older children and needs his boundaries respected! He's an extremely smart dog and has been easy to get into a routine here at the shelter with, so any additional training at home should be a breeze! He loves to play long games of fetch, then when he's tired he loves to lay in the kitty pool or get sprayed with the hose!Due to his past, we would need for Silas to go to a home with a securely fenced yard or someone that's willing to walk him daily. He's a boy that is going to need a fair amount of exercise and something to keep his brain busy if he's to be left home for long periods of time. He has some restraint issues and makes his boundaries clear. Stitch is a 4 year old Shepherd Lab mix that came to us from Mississippi. He was seized from his owner after it was discovered that he and Grace were tied to trees in the back yard of a property. Stitch was severely injured. His collar was so embedded in his neck that he had to have surgery to remove it. He also had the chain stuck around his legs so he couldn't move. He has scars on h8s back legs from that. Stitch loves scratches and gives lots of kisses. A home with a fenced in yard is required. We do not want him to be on a tie out ever again. Hecdoes walk great on a leash. He is good with other animals and kids. He is neutered, up to date on shots, rabies, microchipped and heartworm negative and on prevention. Hi there, I'm Peace Lily, the playful 6-month-old, 24lb German Shepherd mix eagerly looking for my forever family. I found myself as a scared stray all by myself at a kill shelter before I was rescued. When I first arrived to my foster home, I was pretty scared, but with some love and patience, I've come out of my shell and revealed my true fun-loving nature. Zooming around the yard is my absolute favorite pastime, and I'm always up for a game of fetch or tag! I’m being fostered near Coldwater, Michigan.I'm quite the social pup and get along great with other dogs, although I haven't had the chance to meet any cats yet. Kids are cool too, but I'm still learning not to jump up, so some supervision would be ideal. Walking on a leash is still a bit new to me, so I feel most comfortable in a FENCED-IN YARD where I can explore safely. I'm proud to say I'm making strides in my training—I'm almost a pro at potty training, and I'm a champ at sleeping through the night in my crate. We got Hades when he was a puppy and he is now 5.5 years old. He is a guard dog so he can be pretty skeptical upon meeting strangers. Prefer a home with someone who has experience with his breed, no other dogs or cats and either no children or children who are older. We have 3 children of our own (two teens and a 2 year old). Due to personal reasons we were not able to keep him updated with vaccines or get him neutered. Hades is house trained but he does suffer with anxiety and separation, so he does have an occasional accident. He is crate trained but doesn’t always enjoy it. He has broken a few cages throughout the years from jumping on them. Knows some commands (sit, shake, lay/down), I’ve been trying to work on “stay” for the last few years but it isn’t sticking. He does good on “stay” for a few seconds. Even though he is 5.5 yrs old, he still has the energy of a puppy. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to keep him as our landlord is selling our home
