This handsome boy is Diesel!Diesel is still very new to FDHS and is taking some time to decompress, so he can be a little nervous at first. He warms up quickly with a calm voice, gentle encouragement, and especially some yummy treats. Diesel has pleasantly surprised us with his leash manners, though he can be easily startled and may pull when he’s spooked. He has done well spending time in a securely fenced area where he can feel safe and explore at his own pace.Diesel is a young German Shepherd mix who recently came to FDHS after his previous family could no longer care for him. He came from a busy, multi-dog household, and with several other intact dogs in the home, things could sometimes feel overwhelming. Because of this, Diesel would do best in a home that can provide structure, clear boundaries, and careful introductions with any canine companions so he can feel secure and confident.Overall, Diesel has been friendly with our staff and easy to handle. As with any new dog, we recommend slow introductions to all household members. While we do not know if he has lived with young children or cats, with proper introductions we believe he has the potential to do well in many types of homes.As a German Shepherd mix, Diesel is a working dog at heart who needs both mental and physical enrichment. He enjoys being active, learning, and spending time with his people. An active household, especially one with Shepherd experience, would be an excellent match for this smart, sensitive boy.

🌴STITCH🌴“Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”🐚Stitch is an adorable and handsome 9 month old German Shepherd mix puppy. He and his sister were dumped out in the country. We couldn’t leave them behind so they were trapped and brought into rescue. 🐚Stitch knows no stranger. He is so friendly and everyone is his friend. He greets people with a wigglebut and seeks attention/affection. He loves his chest being scratched!🐚Stitch loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them, big or small. We see no reason why he would have any issues with cats. He is good with kids and all people as long as they go slow until he gets to know them. Stitch is walking well on a leash although sometimes, he likes to plop down to take a break. He also loves water and enjoys laying in kiddie pools to cool off! 🐚 Stitch is crate trained and mostly potty trained. He is still a puppy so taking him out on a consistent schedule is key. 🐚 He has been neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, fully vaccinated for rabies, distemper/parvo/lepto and bordatella, wormed and started on heartworm prevention. Jessica is a 2 year old German Shepherd who was surrendered to a rural shelter in Lousiana with 2 of her 3 puppies. The owner could not find the 3rd puppy at the time of surrender. A few days later he was found and also surrendered in rough shape. She is in a foster home and adjusting to her new life. Jess is good with other dogs but cats are unknown at this time. She is very submissive with other dogs. She is a sweet loving girl who just wants attention. She has lived most of her life outside but is adjusting to life in the house in her foster home. She does well in a crate. Jess is spayed, up to date on shots, rabies and on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $425 ##2581652##
