**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Sprocket. I'm about 1-2 years old and I weigh about 63 lbs. I was found running on Rt 14 in the Washingtonville area and was brought into the pound. My owner did call to look for me, but never came in to claim me so I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I am a very sweet and happy boy. I LOVE playing fetch and I will definitely demand playtime if I am bored. I will definitely jam my toy in to your leg so you know that I would like you to throw my ball. No take, only throw. That's the game I like to play if I have my toy in my mouth. I will drop it and let you play lets see who can get it faster too. I also like that game! I do sometimes drop it and let you throw it for me too, though, because I LOVE to run and chase it just as much as I love to tease you with it. I have done well around the other dogs here at the pound and I've also done well around the office cats. I am very clean in my kennel and I appear to be housebroken. I will need a family that can work with me on my basic training and manners, though I do well for the most part. I do try to dart past people at doors, so some impulse control work would be helpful. If you're looking for a big, sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Ingrid. I'm about 1 1/2 years old and I weigh about 60 lbs currently. I'm quite a bit on the thin side still, but I am putting on weigh. I was found as a stray in the Elkton area and was on the run for at least a week. I was very scared of everyone while I was on the run and I didn't trust a soul! One very dedicated soul spent a lot of time and was finally able to catch me and bring me to safety here at the pound. I am a VERY sweet girl, but also very much a young shepherd and I definitely need a patient family that is savvy with Shepherds or other working breeds. True to my breed, I am extremely intelligent and I already know some basic commands (sit, lay, shake "hands"). Although someone has put time into working with me, I could definitely use work on basic manners like not getting excited and running to jump on you full blast when I'm excited... or play too rough with my chompy chompers for instance. I have done well around all of the other dogs I've met here at the pound. I appear to have been a house dog and I try hard to keep my kennel clean at night, though I do have occasional accidents. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Coupe came to the shelter with his buddy Deville.  They are a unique set of dogs.  With his pointed ears and dark features, Coupe is a sleek stunning looking dog.  He is cheerful and likes belly rubs!  Coup would thrive somewhere he can run around and enjoy the outside.  He is also very agile and athletic.  He is approximately one year old and is neutered, is also microchipped and 4DX tested which showed him to be Lyme positive.  He weighs  around 68 pounds.  He does not care for cats.  He is not leash trained, but is very well tempered.  He can jump a fence though.   If interested in Coupe, you must fill out an adoption application at:  https://cpas.rescuegroups.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 17, 2026, 8:03 pm
