Story
Hello! My name is Dempsey! If you are looking for an incredibly smart, heartbreakingly handsome, snuggly, cuddly pup, then I am your guy! I am a very sweet boy looking for a forever family. I love meeting new people and making new friends, I truly get along with pretty much everyone I meet. I am very active, energetic, and quite athletic. I love to chase toys, play fetch, and find pesky squeakers to squeak! I love to train and spend a lot of my time learning new skills here. If you have owned a shepherd before, you know that my mind is sharp and ready to work, and I can`t stand to feel bored or lazy. I want to learn new things and you know what? I`m really good at it! When I`m not learning or training, I can usually be found in an office here at the shelter. I am so well-behaved, I am an office fave! I am polite, sweet, and give the best cuddles. I am already housebroken and crate trained, and I am wonderful with the medical team (they say I`m the goodest boy around). I do need to be the only animal in my forever home and I need a family who enjoys working with a smarty-pants like me. If you have have owned a shepherd or similar breed before, you`ll be the best fit for me. I need a special family who can spend time with me, train me, cuddle me, and take me on adventures. Come meet me today! Here`s what the staff have to say about Dempsey, `Dempsey has the best hugs. He will cuddle right in and snuggle you up. He`s fun to train and teach new things and he`s always cracking us up. If I share a little snicky-snacky with him, he`ll eat what`s in the container and then bring me the empty container! He is so affectionate and is always happiest when he has someone to hang out with. He`s just the coolest dude.`If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/prevent

Story
Perfect Dog. I rescued her a year ago and she is a beautiful companion. Donation fee can be waived, but I have a perfect crate and her toys to offer with dog. Perfect house trained, can wait long hours in crate, and is quick to obey orders. Only issue is that she is very strong and needs someone who can handle her on walks. She gets excited when she sees prey or other dogs, but gets along with other dogs fine. Excellent guard dog and can be intimidating to any threats. She will sleep on your bed perfectly, and only barks when warning you of someone on your property. Very quiet after that and does not shed much. Great health and very sturdy. Literally a perfect dog who needs love, exercise, and consistent care. I will deeply miss her, but job requirements makes it hard for me to give her the love and care she deserves. Please reach out to me as soon as possible. Thank you!

Story
Greetings, mortals! I am Aries, a majestic male dog with a powerful spirit that rivals the might of the gods themselves. My lineage is a fusion of strength and courage, much like the mythical Greek warriors of old. As a German Shepherd mix, I bear the mantle of both protector and loyal companion, ready to embark on epic adventures by your side. Behold, my most distinctive feature: my big, floppy ears that listen keenly to the whispers of the wind and the secrets of the world around me. They stand as a testament to my unwavering vigilance, always attuned to the slightest rustle or sign of danger. Like the fiery ram that represents my namesake constellation, I possess boundless energy and a fiery spirit. With every step I take, I channel the might of the heavens, exuding the strength and grace befitting of a true Greek hero. My paws tread the earth with purpose, and my heart beats with the fervor of an ancient battle cry. But fear not, for beneath my divine exterior lies a heart overflowing with affection. I am not just a warrior; I am a loyal and loving companion. Together, we shall conquer every challenge and forge an unbreakable bond that even the gods would envy. So, dear mortal, if you seek a canine ally who embodies the essence of a Greek legend, look no further. I, Aries, the German Shepherd mix with big floppy ears, am here to join you on a quest of a lifetime. Let us create a mythic tale of companionship and courage that will be sung by bards for generations to come. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Our story started under a house — yep, just a bunch of tiny bottle babies with no mama in sight. Eight of us! Our amazing foster mamas swooped in to save the day (and gave up all their sleep in the process 😅). Back then, our markings made us look like little Shepherd mixes, but as we grew and more of our personality came out, our mamas got intrigued. So, the DNA tests are in the mail, and we’ll soon find out what kind of adorable breeds we’re made of! Even as teeny-tiny pups, some of us were very opinionated — strong, independent, and determined to do things OUR way. (Think baby divas with bottles instead of tiaras.) But once we hit the gruel stage, it was game on. Now we’re healthy, spoiled, and absolutely thriving! We LOVE attention, snacks, and talking to our humans—especially if dinner’s taking too long. We’re professional explorers, champion wrestlers, and experts at the art of toy keep-away. Basically, we’re a hilarious, lovable bunch of goofballs who promise to fill your home with laughter, love, and just a touch of chaos. The DNA results are in!! 🧬 Turns out we’re a one-of-a-kind mix — 16 different breeds all rolled into one adorable package! Our biggest influences are German Shepherd, Chow Chow, and Dachshund (talk about unique!). Want to see the full breakdown? Check out the complete DNA results on our website! Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Sheeba is my name and I am quite the celebrity around here :) Let me tell you all about it... have a seat and grab some tea. I was living on the streets with a gang of friends... found by a rescuer we were being fed but there was no room to put all of us. Of course, I was pregnant and after I gave birth the rescuers were afraid with all the storms that my babies wouldn't survive out there. So the pound was called, and let me tell you....I WOULD HAVE PROTECTED MY PUPS WITH MY LIFE........ of course, that is deemed "aggressive" and after my two day stray hold I was going to be euthanized and my puppies sent to rescues to bottle feed and raise up :( But MY rescue said, UH UH... She comes with the pups.... and they MADE IT HAPPEN! Now, it wasn't easy but I settled in to the routine and learned my caregiver's names and soon enough I was eating out of their hands. And they learned some neat but sad things about me.... I belonged to someone who trained me....... it is sad because no one has any idea where that person is nor why I was living on the streets :( Also, I am a very smart girl so I am also very sensitive to change....but, with my pups grown and adopted, I am now a model citizen at the rescue. Look at my video....I had JUST met the trainer that day and she absolutely fell head over heels for me. Now I am ready for you, I will complete your family. I am still working on my other dog skills and would probably be best where I can be the only dog and give you all my love. I am a gorgeous girl, my coat resembles a Belgian Shepherd's and I have GSD face and mannerisms. So if you want to adopt me, you must love and understand the working breeds. We need an outlet for our drive and you have to provide that to give me a great balanced life. I am ready, I hope you are too!! Local adoption only, $200 (in TX) (or if you want to drive down to meet and take her home that is cool too :)
