Story
Jeannie is a lovely 9-10m old shepherd mix pup who has a pile of energy and more love to share than the volunteers know what to do with. The finder saw her jump out of the truck a few vehicles in front of him. Noone has stepped forward to say that she is theirs or they knew the vehicle that she came out of.She has been well loved, with lots of walks, toys, and entertainment from the volunteers. She up to date with vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea treatment, dewormer, micrchip and spay and very ready to find a home to call her own.

Duke is a lovely senior dog almost 9 years old. He only knew his dad who he lived with since he was a puppy and now his dad is too sick to look after him. He does have some arthritis in his backend and we do have him on medications to help make him feel better.Volunteers have fallen in love with him and he enjoys his walks his runs and his cuddles. We are looking for someone who will allow Duke to enjoy his time and will will love him for who he is. He probably should not be with any other dogs because he doesn`t know how to live with them yet when he meets them on walks he`s all tail wags and sniffs. He is heartworm test negative he has had his rabies shot we will work with the foster to adopt to slowly get his vaccines done as we believe he had a vaccine reaction to the rabies.Let`s find this boy a home!

**IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** For Adoption: Pascalie! Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. To apply for adoption and for more information on our process and requirements, visit our website at https://pounddog.ca/adoption-info/. Meet Pascalie, an adorable (and she knows it) 3 month old German Shepherd X. Pascalie is a large breed dog and although she is currently 20lbs, you can expect her to be between 40-70lbs when fully grown. Pascalie, or Calie as we call her, is a darling, highly energetic puppy looking to find her perfect forever family. Pascalie came to her foster family home at 8 weeks old. She was dumped in a park with her brother, suffering from Parvo. Thanks to caring citizens and animal control they were rescued, vetted, and saved before making her way into foster care. She now has a bright future ahead of her. Pascalie has a soft, black puppy coat with tan booties and expressive eyebrows (you can’t miss them). While we don’t know what Pascalie is mixed with, the German Shepherd breed is notorious for shedding and requires regular brushing to manage the fur. You should expect to deal with hair on clothing, furniture…and lots of vacuuming. Pascalie has not let having Parvo slow her down. Now that she is recovered, she has had her age appropriate vaccines, and a clean bill of health from the vet and is living her best puppy life. Anyone interested in Pascalie needs to live within one hour of Cambridge, Ont as she must be returned to our vet later on to be spayed. She will be adopted out on a contract that stipulates this, and it is mandatory. This is covered in the adoption fee. Pascalie is a great choice if you’re looking for an energetic, athletic, and friendly dog. She wants to be friends with everyone and will sit and stare at them until they notice her. She fully expects that everyone will fall for her adorableness, want to pet her, and take her home. Pascalie is also very interested in other dogs but we have limited her interaction with dogs we know are up to date on vaccines. She is a very busy pup and loves to play with toys, chew on bones, and play tug. Pascalie is working on how to calm down and relax by resting in her crate. If Pascalie was left to her own devices, she would play and have the zoomies all.day.long. To set her up for success, it is important to monitor her down time or she will become overstimulated and act out. She loves anything she can get her mouth on so constant eyes on her, consistent “ah ahs”, and rewarding with treats and praise are necessary. We are continuing to work on her nipping phase and she has shown improvement, especially if she is properly rested. She is very smart and has learned “sit”, “down”, “wait” (for food), “crate” and “off”. Due to her puppy mouthing and jumping tendencies, Pascalie, will be good with older children (over 8yrs) who’s family have experience with large dogs. It is imperative that Pascalie attend obedience school, to continue working on her basic commands, build confidence, and learn to be around other dogs. She is extremely food motivated and thrives on positive reinforcement so she should be a straight A student. She is going to be too big and strong of an adult dog not to be trained and socialized properly. We are looking for a family for her that is committed to advanced training and will take her beyond the basic level. We are working on house training and Pascalie has done pretty well, with only 2 accidents in the home in 2 weeks. She currently goes for potty breaks every 3-4 hours during the day and only needs one break during the night. She has recently been able to hold for 5 hours overnight. Regular outside breaks are necessary as she hasn’t learned to signal that she needs to go. Pascalie, is crate trained and may only fuss for a few minutes. Again, her adoptive family will have to keep up with using the crate to avoid accidents, insure she is getting proper rest, and not doing all things unwatched puppies love to do. Remember with puppies in a new home, they have to get use to new routines, so it is not unusual for accidents to happen for the first while. A puppy needs 100% supervision when not in their crates so any accidents in the home are going to be human error. Puppies are a lot of work and anyone interested in Pascalie needs to have the time and schedule for her needs. Pascalie’s ideal home would be a detached or semi detached home with a fenced yard for her to run and play. She would also be fine in a home without a fence. Just know that you have to take her out on a leash for her potty breaks, multiple times a day, including overnight for the next little bit. The fenced yard is not to make up for walks…she will still need 2-3 per day. Pascalie’s foster home has a medium size, active 3 year old dog. They play well together outside the home. Inside the home, Pascalie loves to jump and nip so any other dog in the home must be good natured, patient, and willing to let Pascalie know when enough is enough. Having another acitve dog in the home to be a role model for her, and to walk/hike/run (when old enough), and play with would be great but not mandatory if her people are committed to her exercise, socialization, training and have the time to focus on a puppy. If there is another dog in the home it will need to be a male dog that is playful and tolerant of puppy energy. Daily work is needed on her physical and mental exercise. Currently, Pascalie is walked 3x a day for 15-20 minutes and that will need to be increased as she gets older. She also gets play time with toys, whether it’s chasing a ball, playing tug, or throwing her squeaky toys to pounce on them…she loves a good squeaky toy for 10-15 minutes every few hours. Pascalie also loves her puzzle bowl for meals, frozen kongs, and homemade enrichment toys, like kibble hidden in a towel. Time is also spent on training her basic commands. Her adoptive family will need to understand that this is a commitment and dedicate time for this throughout the day to set her up for success. Other than our dog, Pascalie has not had much opportunity to socialize with other dogs. The couple that she has met, she is very confident and playful. Her people need to have the time for her and be able to pay attention to her and exercise her. She is going to be an energetic and athletic adult dog so her people need to be active, outdoorsy types able to physically manage her adult dog exercise needs. She will be a dog that will want to be out all year long for runs, walks, hikes, you name it. This is an all season, all weather type dog. For busy outdoorsy types, this is the dog for you! Pascalie is a good puppy, but a puppy none the less and puppies are tiring and need constant support while they grow and navigate the world. Overall Pascalie is the epitome of what you would expect of a Shepherd X puppy. She is non-stop fun, athletic, and smart. She is going to make an active family VERY happy and will be a great addition to anyone who has a lot of time, energy, and love to give. We can’t wait to see what the world has in store for this munchkin! Story
I really need a family with another dog (or can be only dog), a securely fenced yard and someone that works from home. You can contact us directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com, or fill out an application at either https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other I need an active German Shepherd family home. Patty is a 3 yr old 80 lb active German Shepherd mix (probably some Belgian Malnois) I will do best with an active alpha German Shepherd experienced owner with a secure 6 ft fenced yard. I am a semi energetic happy gal that LOVES my people unconditionally. I do like other dogs and cats. I like daily walks, car rides, toys, dog beds and hanging out with my humans. I am house trained and crate trained. (but much prefer being free and hanging out with my humans ....do you work from home?) I will require daily walks and some dog training. No children under 6 yrs of age. I am NOT an apartment or condo dog. I am a family pet! This is a courtesy post for Helotes Humane Society You can contact us directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com, or fill out and application at either https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other All adopted pups and dogs are transported to WA/OR families when fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. For information on how to adopt me, please contact my foster parents at info@dogdiggityrescue.com. Story
Name: Fathom Breed: GSD x Farm Dog Mix DOB/Sex: Dec 22, 2023/FS Known Health Issues: Fathom had her hips xrayed at her spay Nov 2025. She needs a double hip replacement. THIS IS COMPLETELY COVERED WITH HER ADOPTION. Good With: Cats! Dogs! Kids! Fathom needs another dog in the home as she thrives with a well matched canine companion 😊 NO DOG PARKS. Fathom is a very sweet, active young girl, who is eager to find her forever family! Fathom loves the outdoors; hiking, running, and playing in the water! She is happy to go out in all weather, and thrives with regular outdoor adventures. Fathom and her siblings are slower to mature, and soft in temperament. They take time to form bonds, and trust. But once comfortable, they truly shine! Though she has just turned 2, she is much more 8 monthish in mental maturity. She has recently been discovering herself, and is enjoying a new level of confidence. Her drive is starting to come out, and she would benefit from a home that would continue to give her confidence building opportunities. She is full of potential, and with the right guidance, will be a very fun activity dog! At her recent spay, we did a routine hip xray. Unfortunately her hips aren't very good, and a bilateral hip replacement will be her best option to live a long, pain-free life. She is currently very comfortable, so my hope is that we can get her settled into her forever home, before starting her first surgery. This way she has a chance to adjust, build bonds, and be very comfortable with her new family. Otherwise this could potentially significantly delay her finding a family, as it would not be fair to her to move during recovery and rehab. As she is very comfortable at this time, there is no urgency in that sense. But a younger dog has an easier time healing and recovering than an older dog, so the benefit of doing the surgery now would allow her to move forward pain free and with the smoothest recovery. The rescue will 100% be there to support you during the process, and both hip surgeries are completely covered with her adoption. The surgeries will be performed by our wonderful orthopedic surgeon, Dr. John, at Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital. Fathom is a dog that very much enjoys the company of other dogs in a safe and structured environment. It helps her open up and feel a lot more comfortable, to the point where she requires another dog in the home to be considered for adoption. She does well with all ages, breeds, and both sexes. Although I always recommend not placing with the same sex close in age. As she is slow to mature, there's always a chance she develops a little less tolerance down the road, but so far she has been very social with proper boundaries and structure in place. Fathom is available to go to a home with children. As she is a soft dog, a calm home, with a lot of rules and boundaries in place is key. A loud, rambunctious home, would not be suitable for her. This is especially important for her upcoming recovery, post surgery. Fathom has the strongest prey-drive of her siblings. With her personality, she very much can still live with cats as long as the appropriate training is put in place. However if the appropriate training is not put in place, she absolutely will want to chase and that prey-drive will kick in. Please do not apply if you're not willing to actually put the training in. This is not a one and done situation. She has genetic instinct that will need to be properly managed. Fathom loves her toys, and is often found with a ball in her mouth! She takes great satisfaction in stuffy destruction, and loves a good nylabone chew. She is very goofy, playful, and makes me laugh all the time! Fathom has been a true joy, and is honestly the absolute sweetest girl. She bonds very hard, and very much wants your approval. The bond of a softer dog is like no other. You are their light, their world, and their everything. If you are ready to be her guiding light, enjoy regular training activities, and will give her continued life skills in order to succeed, build confidence, and enjoy the world, then please reach out. She deserves only the best! A few words from Adventure Team Member Nic who recently took her for a foster vacation: "Fathom is such a sweet girl! I got to hang with her for about two weeks and she was a wonderful houseguest. She started off timid, but every day there was substantial progress. While I wouldn’t let her off leash, we grew quite comfortable with each other over the 2 weeks and she would happily seek attention from me. She’s also a very clean girl- not a single accident! She also loves her crate, it’s her safe space. She is very well crate trained! She truly shines in the presence of other dogs. She loved playing with my dogs and other dogs at my work. She plays well, can take a correction, and is generally very submissive. She would do super well with any pup that wants to play! She’s also very respectful of boundaries, and didn’t bother my senior small breed dog. She was very happy to be wherever we are. She’s neutral in public and enjoyed our long trail walks! She’d love an active family, with a fur sibling to play with, and a comfy bed to lay on :) " If Fathom might be the one missing from your life, please apply here: https://form.jotform.com/233466598767073 **All Adopters are required to attend formal obedience classes upon adoption.** **All Adopters are required to obtain, and maintain pet insurance for their newly adopted companion.** ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded.
