Patty is a 8 mos old 45 lb active German Shepherd mix (probably some Belgian Malnois) I will do best with an active alpha German Shepherd experienced owner with a secure 6 ft fenced yard. I am a semi energetic happy gal that LOVES my people unconditionally. I do like other dogs and cats. I like daily walks, car rides, toys, dog beds and hanging out with my humans. Wilbur | 14 Weeks | Northern Mix| Dogs: Yes | Cats: Yes | Kids: Yes Meet Wilbur! Wilbur is a playfull boy who loves cuddles. Good on leash but needs more training. Typical puppy that has alot of energy. He's a sweet boy who loves to be loved. He can be both hyper and calm when the moments allow. Does not mind laying around watching a movies. Wilbur is very good motivated and will be easy to train! This big boy is a dream to be around and we can’t believe he’s still with us! Although they may be cute, puppies are a lot of work! Puppies need families that are home often to continue working on their house training and socialization. Their adoptive family must be committed to registering them for obedience classes. Wilbur is current on age appropriate vaccines and is microchipped. They are being fostered in Oakville, ON. 📌 Apply to Adopt! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ https://forms.gle/rJ9kmorUvtBaeQAE6

Story
Hello! My name is George!I am an energetic boy who loves to run and play. I have a blast running around with my zoomies! I can be nervous of new people at first. I'm gaining lots of confidence with my GHS friends and I look forward to joining a home that uses a positive training approach to continue to build my confidence. When I get excited, I can be jumpy. I'm doing so well with training and am a very smart boy! MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: No, I'm looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: Potentially, depending on the dog. I seem to be scared of dogs upon first meeting, but once I warm up, I'm rather playful.CATS: No, I would likely be too much for a cat.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I'm looking for someone that has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended, unless you live on a country property.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily, however I may not be the best match for a home where I will be alone a full work day.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium-highI'M ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET: NoHOUSE-TRAINED: Almost, I will require some patience and training from my new family. If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the "adopt me" button to apply!

Story
Hello, my name is Valentina!I'm a ball-dog - I love chasing and fetching balls. It's my favorite hobby, followed by pets from my people. I was a stray, so my GHS friends don't know anything about my history. I don't enjoy handling such as nail trims or vet exams. I am looking for a home that will work with me to help that be a more comfortable experience. MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: No young children. Teenagers should be ok.OTHER DOGS: Potentially, a dog of a herding breed might be a good match. I don't seem to be super interested in playing with other dogs.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs and who has lived with dogs before. FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I would do best with someone who has dog experience. FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any, ideally with a yard, however I may not be ideal for apartment life given I do like to bark. SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarilySOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium-high.I'M ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET: No.HOUSE-TRAINED: So far so good!If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the "adopt me" button to apply!

Story
Once you meet Hobo, there is ABSOLUTELY no doubt who the "good boy" is. Meeting this guy is like meeting your long lost best friend, where you feel so comfortable in their presence. He is a bigger guy with some strength, so savvy owners willing to help this guy get better manners would be ideal. He should go to a home without other animals and a fenced yard to safely run in. Older respectful children who are accustomed to larger dogs would be amazing. With a bit of structure Hobo is going to add so much happiness to a household.

Story
Mel is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Mel, the Belgian Malinois mix. Mel is apx 6- 8 months old and 35 pounds, but still a tad on the thin side, we are fattening her up. Mel will be a big gal, probably weighing 65-70 plus pounds. Her legs are huge. Mel is smart, quirky, sometimes a fraidy cat which is funny because she is so big, but you still have to remember just because she is a giant, she is still just a baby. Mel is working on her leash manners, potty manners and every other manners. She spent two months in the city shelter alone in a 4x4 cell full of pee and poop. As you can imagine this dog breed does not do well with that setting. Being in a shelter forced to sleep, urinate and eat in the same space for months as a baby really set her behind a bit. She needs some work, patience and devotion. Mel is a FAST learner though. In less than two weeks she learned not to jump, she takes treats very nicely. We are still working on sit as she sits and then slides down to a lay belly roll 😂. She is submissive to other dogs and people and never ever aggressive. Mel does not have a mean bone in her body. That being said, make sure that you research this dog breed thoroughly before committing to taking her into your home for the rest of your life as she will get very attached to you and your family and will probably be very protective of you. She is eager to learn, to please her people, to love, to play and as she gains trust and confidence, I have no doubt you are going to have one spectacular dog on your hands that you can not imagine life without. We have had her with big dogs, small dogs, old dogs, cats, puppies and kids and she is amazing with them all. Give Mel a chance! You won’t regret it. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt.
