Story
Hawk is a 1 year old male German Shepherd. He was found stray and came to us from our local shelter after no one came for him for 4 months. Hawk is a young guy full of curiosity, spirit, and life! He loves to play fetch, meet other dogs, go for walks, meet new people, and play with toys. We don't think Hawk has had a ton of new experiences in his short life, but he has a great attitude and is full of curiosity. Any new adventure, Hawk is up for it! Hawk is a young German Shepherd who doesn't seem to have had much training or direction in his short life. At the shelter he displayed a lot of inappropriate behaviours such as jumping up, mouthing, grabbing clothing and just being pushy in general. However, Hawk learns very quickly and with a confident handler (and maybe some treats!), he quickly switches his attitude and offers appropriate behaviours such as sits and eye contact for treats. He will also sit for toys and is an excellent fetch partner, trading his ball for another ball or treats, and sitting politely till it's thrown. We feel like he simply was not taught what behaviours are appropriate and which ones aren't in his previous home. Hawk is well behaved with other dogs. He is respectful, neutral and friendly with older slower dogs, and playful with younger bouncier dogs. He does like to chase zoomy dogs and tries to catch them, so he does need some intervention to prevent big adrenalized play with other zoomy dogs. He has a high prey drive for chickens and other small outdoor animals, and may not be a good fit for a home with cats. Hawk loves everybody that he meets! He loves leaning on people for pets, jumping up, and playing with them, and is excited to meet new people. At this time, we feel like Hawk would do best with older children while he is still learning that jumping up and mouthing is not appropriate. Hawk is currently being fostered in an apartment building with another dog. He goes into his crate following kibble, and happy to quietly nap in his crate. He is fine in the elevator, but stairs seem unfamiliar and overstimulating for him. He's still learning! First Impression Summary: -1 year old male German Shepherd -Good with dogs -Unknown with cats -Loves strangers/all people -Older kids -Excellent in crate -Good in car -Pulls heavily on leash, needs work -Affectionate/overstimulated -Loves training, training games, and working for food/toys. Very smart -Loves fetch and chew toys -Loves adventures -Pushy, bold, curious, happy personality -Sensitive - will try to push through door, but yelp if his head gets stuck -Good getting bathed and brushed, but will yelp if brush gets caught. Energy: high Hawk is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and tested negative on his 4DX snap test for mosquito/tick borne illnesses. Otter | Male | 15 Weeks | Northern Mix | Dogs: Yes | Cats: Yes | Kids: Yes Otter is a lovely boy! He is super playful, loves to play with toys and other dogs. And when he’s done all that he’s ready to snuggle with you for a nap! 😴 Otter, unlike his name sake, is not a fan of baths… but then again… who is?! Otter is very food motivated and should make him easy to train! Otter does for a little car ride every day and he loves it! This little guy can’t wait for his ride him with you! Although they may be cute, puppies are a lot of work! Puppies need families that are home often to continue working on their house training and socialization. Their adoptive family must be committed to registering them for obedience classes. Otter is current on age appropriate vaccines. She is learning to walk well on leash and in time will be a pro! Here is what Koda’s fosters have to say about her! “Koda is a puppy with a sense of adventure. She will happily sniff every bush she finds, and go with you on car rides. Still working on leash training. Great with other dogs and cat in foster home. She is treat motivated, and loves playing in the water when the kiddie pool comes out.” Although they may be cute, puppies are a lot of work! Story
Hello! My name is George Costanza - but you can call me George! Or Georgie Porgie, as my friends do!I have been patiently waiting for my FUR-ever home since November 2023; I'm so excited for my new family to come along and take me home. I am a super fun boy who loves fetch, long walks and WATER! I would be the best cottage buddy, floating down the river buddy or hiking buddy. Imagine: me and you, in a floatie, lounging on the lake with a cold drink and a yummy snack! My new family should know that when I get excited, I can be jumpy. But I love training and am doing really well - I'm so smart that I know how to sit without even being asked! And I'm learning lots of other cool tricks too, just ask my friends. MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Teenagers could be ok; no young childrenOTHER DOGS: Potentially, depending on the dog. It doesn't seem like I have had much experience socializing with dogs, so I can be nervous at first. Once I warm up, I can be playful although a bit awkward - silly me! I would be the best match with a very well-socialized and tolerant dog buddy.CATS: No, my energetic nature would likely be too much for a cat.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I need an owner with previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended, unless you live on a country property.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium-high.HOUSE-TRAINED: Almost! If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the "adopt me" button to apply!

Hello, my name is Valentina!I am a playful, silly girl whose idea of a good time is tossing around a good stuffy toy or going for a long walking adventure. I am very affectionate and snuggly with my humans. I can be nervous of new people, especially men, but warm up nicely with treats and toys. I would be a great agility dog as I'm quite athletic and skilled at jumping through hoops, literally. MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: No young children. Teenagers should be ok.OTHER DOGS: No, I don't seem to enjoy the company of other dogs.CATS: Yes, I did well with the cats in my foster home.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I would do best with someone who has dog experience.
