Story
Meet John (aka “Puppy”) — A Big Heart Looking for His One True Forever Sometimes, even when love is real, life changes. John — lovingly called Puppy — is coming back to Lucky Paws Rescue through no fault of his own. His family’s world shifted quickly with a pregnancy and a job transfer, and they made the heartbreaking decision to return him so he can find the stability and permanence he deserves. And make no mistake… this boy is pure joy wrapped in fur. John is sweet, affectionate, and overflowing with happiness. He gives all the kisses, all the cuddles, and all the love. If there’s an open lap, a couch corner, or a cozy spot near his people, he will find it — because cuddling is his favorite thing in the world. He’s also fast. Like… blink-and-he’s-gone fast.John lives for zoomies — racing joyful laps around the yard, playfully chasing other dogs (even though he usually laps them and ends up chasing from the front ). He’s been raised with medium to large dogs and does wonderfully with them, happily and respectfully submitting to both male and female dogs. John is fantastic with children. He’s lived with a toddler and a baby and has been nothing but gentle, patient, and loving — never a growl, never irritation, just a big-hearted puppy who wants to be part of the family. He is energetic, and like any smart, young dog, he needs an outlet for that energy. When he doesn’t get enough stimulation, he’ll entertain himself — chewing, digging, or finding his own “projects.” He will thrive in a home that understands puppies need structure, exercise, enrichment, and consistency. What breaks our hearts the most is that John has already experienced what it feels like to belong… and now he’s starting over. We are begging — pleading — for a permanent, committed home for this boy. Not a “for now.” Not a “we’ll see.”But a forever. John is not disposable. He is not temporary. He is love. He is loyalty. He is joy. If you are ready to give him stability, patience, guidance, and a lifetime of cuddles and adventures — John will give you his whole heart in return. Please help us make sure this is the last time he has to say goodbye. ##2360073##

Aries is a sweet boy! He does have stranger danger, so he is nervous when first meeting people. But once you're his people he will protect his family. He would do best with no children since he does have Shepherd personality. He does like dogs but would need a meet and greet with other dogs. German Shepherd experience needed

Story
Ace – Our Longest Waiting Boy My name is Ace, and I’ve been at the Orangeburg SPCA longer than any other dog. I’m 6 years old, and while I’ve watched so many of my shelter friends find their happy endings, I’m still here… waiting. I was rescued from a hoarding situation where I never truly knew love or care. Because my case had to go through the courts, I wasn’t even available for adoption at first. By the time I finally was, it felt like the world had moved on without me. I can’t help but wonder if that wait cost me my chance at a family. I’ll admit, I’m not perfect. I have trust issues, and I don’t always want to share my toys—after all, I never had much to call my own. I also take daily medication to control seizures, so I’ll need a family who can commit to keeping me safe and healthy. But beneath it all, I’m still just a dog who desperately wants what every dog dreams of: love, safety, and a place to belong. Even at my “old age,” I’ve still got plenty of pep in my step—I LOVE to run and could chase a tennis ball all day long. That goofy, playful side of me is still very much alive, and I’m ready to share it with the right family. Everyone at the shelter loves me and wants me to find my perfect family. They’ve promised to work with my new family in any way they can—before, during, and after adoption—to help me succeed. Because of my long stay and some Malinois-like tendencies, I won’t be adopted out immediately. Instead, the shelter will require several visits with me, with staff supervising, to make sure both me and my new family feel comfortable before I go home. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready for a new chapter. I’m also open to being pulled by a rescue who believes they can help me find the right home. Please, don’t let me spend another birthday in a kennel. I’ve waited longer than anyone, and all I want is someone to finally choose me. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Orangeburg SPCA – 225 Ruf Road, Orangeburg, SC 803-536-3918 | aro.spca@outlook.com Hours to meet me: Monday–Friday: 10 AM – 4 PM Wednesday: 10 AM - 2 PM Saturday: 10 AM – 4 PM Closed Sunday Appointments outside of operating hours. Please share Ace’s story—help us find this sweet boy the family (or rescue) he’s been dreaming of. October 7, 2025, 10:45 am

Story
Found her on the side of the road. We tried to find her original home nothing turned up. She needs a home we have been fostering for about 5 months and needs a tentative home. It just needs to be her in the home. She is great with kids and is 50/50 with other dogs. She is super sweet just hyper and needs work. She is spayed, potty trained, and knows some tricks. We have tried to make it work but it’s just not working out for us.
