Story
“The dog lives for the day, the hour, even the moment.” This reminds us of Russ, who savors each day to the fullest and is such a free spirit! Why we love him: Russ is a bouncy, happy-go-lucky dog who is always so glad to be in your company! He is two years old and weighs 64 pounds. Russ has one of those wonderfully expressive doggy faces that looks like he is smiling, and his merry brown eyes reflect his joy for life. He reminds us of a big puppy! Russ is a very enthusiastic companion on walks and is more than glad to help you get your daily exercise. He would be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. Outings in the fenced yard are a great outlet for his abundant energy, and he bounds about in total joy! He especially enjoys playing with the toys. Russ loves games of fetch, too. Russ is a bright dog who should master any commands you want to teach him. Russ has had some great outings with one of our dedicated volunteers. He enjoyed riding in the car, spending time exploring the yard, observing the chickens and meeting the family cat and dogs. He would do best in a family who will give him structure, consistency and routine. Smart, fun and loyal - Russ is going to be such a great companion! Lucky Russ is currently in a foster home, and his foster Mom says: "He’s very true to what I’ve read about Coonhounds. Russ loves toys and sticks and has a very playful side. He really enjoys being outside sniffing and searching for adventures. Russ is not very vocal, just when the other dogs get barking, he will add to it. He needs someone that will assist with getting his energy out and directed in a good place. He does also love his sleep! He enjoys long naps on his raised dog beds. But when he’s awake, he’s ready to go. He would be best in a home with older children." E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. &#226&#156&#168 Meet Garrett! &#226&#156&#168 Garrett is an amazing dog with a huge heart and an equally big zest for life. He has been deeply loved, and his family is devastated to rehome him—they're moving out of the country. This loyal, high-energy boy has been a constant companion, “nurse,” and best friend to his family. He’s happiest when he’s with his people, going for walks, or enjoying active time together. Garrett would thrive in a home that loves outdoor adventures, long walks, or even jogs. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Personality & Temperament • Loving, loyal, and deeply bonded to his humans • High energy — needs regular exercise and enrichment • Loves being part of the family and staying close to his people • Has great house manners — house trained and sleeps peacefully in his dog bed • Not crate trained, but has never needed one in his current home Dog & Cat Compatibility Dogs: Generally good with most dogs, but he can be selective. Best to meet new dogs in a neutral location: Should not go to dog parks or uncontrolled dog-heavy environments. Cats: Yes! He has successfully lived with a cat for years. Leash Walking & Reactivity Garrett walks well on a leash but can be leash reactive when he sees unfamiliar dogs. He responds very well to “watch,” “leave it,” and treats when the person walking him is attentive. Someone experienced with confident, energetic dogs will do great with him. Kids & Home Environment • Wonderful with children — he has grown up with a child who is now 5 • Apartment friendly as long as his exercise needs are met • Good eater — not a resource guarder, but may sneak snacks if given the chance! Ideal Home Garrett would be happiest with: • An active person or family • Someone confident handling higher-energy, stronger dogs • A household that enjoys long walks, hikes, or runs • A home where he can be close to his people • Potentially with another dog, if properly introduced, and not with a resource-guarding dog He is trained in the basics (sit, wait, down, shake), affectionate, eager to please, and truly wants nothing more than to be someone’s best friend. Garrett will make an active, loving household incredibly happy. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 8, 2025, 4:41 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Bailey Bailey is a sweet German Shepherd mix with a gentle, loving nature and a warm, social personality. She truly enjoys being around people and does wonderfully with other dogs. Bailey is a bit timid in new situations and would thrive in a calm, adult-only home or a home with teenagers where she can relax and settle in at her own pace. She’s at a great age to really benefit from positive socialization and being thoughtfully exposed to new environments, which will help her continue building confidence. She would do best with confident, patient owners who understand that shy dogs blossom with consistency, reassurance, and time. In the right home, Bailey’s personality shines brighter every day. Bailey is both crate trained and potty trained, making her an easy addition to the right household. She’s ready to offer loyalty, love, and plenty of tail wags to a family committed to helping her feel safe and secure. If you’re looking for a sweet companion you can grow alongside, Bailey may be the perfect match. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143  Medical Notes: Spayed Weight 35lbs on 10/18/25 Vaccinated Dewormed Microchipped Maintained on monthly preventions Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 14, 2025, 8:31 pm

Story
The rescue story of our perfect German Shepherd boy called Aries as told by his foster mom. He is about 6-7 years and just under 80 pounds: Aries is probably the happiest dog I’ve ever had! He has a lot to celebrate and I think he knows it… I heard that a GSD was at a full local “kill” shelter and made up my mind to rescue him when I heard he had 1 more day. When I went to the shelter to pick him up, his demeanor was to maintain his distance. You could tell he was confused and on his back foot about where he was and why. Then he got a whiff of my farm boots and the great outdoors and his expression changed.Upon arrival at my farm, his personality came alive. I turned him loose in a big grassy field and he ran and sniffed and explored, always coming back to check in with me to make sure I was ok with his enthusiasm!!Since that day he has never looked back. The freedom and carefree abandon he is experiencing is evident in his happy eyes and tail wags. His best friends are two Heelers who he frolics with for hours. His most favorite toy is a big blue ball that he happily plays with when everyone else is resting. Every morning and evening when I feed him he expresses gratitude with wags and a loving lick or two to my face. The best situation for him would be a home with a big yard and lots of room to run and play. He is is a mature and settled, calm dog who has thrived here with me and his new dog friends. He prefers no cat friends!     If you would like to know more please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Bella is a 7-month-old purebred German Shepherd with a bright future ahead of her — and we can’t wait to see where life takes her next. Found wandering as a stray in rural Tennessee alongside her sister Luna, Bella somehow landed on the right side of luck when she came into the care of Critter Cavalry Rescue. Of the two sisters, Bella is the more outgoing and confident. She currently weighs 47 pounds and is already showing what a well-balanced young shepherd she is. She walks nicely on a leash, is crate trained, and rides calmly in the car — all impressive qualities for a puppy her age. Bella gets along beautifully with other dogs, large and small, and is respectful around cats. She isn’t wild, pushy, or chaotic; instead, she’s thoughtful, steady, and eager to please. With positive reinforcement, structure, and continued confidence-building, she will blossom into a stunning adult shepherd, estimated to mature around 70–75 pounds.   After weeks of waiting with no owner stepping forward, Bella and Luna were officially released to CCR, and we are committed to finding them excellent, German Shepherd-savvy homes. A securely fenced yard is required, along with adopters who understand the breed and are excited to continue her training and development. Bella is sweet, adaptable, and ready to learn what it means to truly belong. She and her sister Luna are ready to be home for Christmas, and we would love nothing more than to make that wish come true. If you’re interested in adopting Bella, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.       ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
