Meet Hank! This hunk of love is ready for a family of his own. Hank is a handsome German Shepherd mix with an estimated birthday of 06/01/2020. He weighs in at a healthy 60-65lbs, and is a fluffball full of love. Hank sports a unique colored coat, he's a stunning brown and tan beauty! He has the manners of a true gentleman, too, and will win your heart on a whim. He has basic obedience down pat, he knows "sit", walks well on a leash, and has begun responding to his name, too. Hank has done well with everyone he's met of all ages here, and would do very well in a home with kids. He has the natural loyalty that is common in shepherd mixes, once you earn his affection he will always stand up for you! Hank also does well with other dogs, but of course we require a meet and greet if you already have any in the home. Hank has not yet been tested with cats. He came to us needing to put on a few pounds, and we are so pleased he is gradually gaining weight. Chief is an enthusiastic, well mannered companion on daily walks. He also has such fun running and playing in the fenced yard. Chief enjoys sitting with you to be petted and especially appreciates the reward of a treat. He will reward you with a happy doggy smile. We are so excited to show the world this exceptionally happy and handsome German Shepherd boy that everyone loves instantly upon meeting him. There are just some dogs draw you in make you want to hug them and reassure them and spend more time around them. This boy is named Maverick and he is 4 to 5 years old and weighs 65 pounds with a need to probably be a good 75 pounds or more. His past is actually unknown, except that he was astray that came into a shelter in Middle, Tennessee and Critter Cavalry Rescue soon learned about his incarceration. You can see in the pictures that his eyes look a little runny, and they are because they have some problems that are being medicated now. Soon they will clear up and soon there will be good healthy weight put on this boy and he will be ready for a new start that he most certainly deserves in life. Maverick is great with meeting new people and new dogs. He seems to be housebroken and is able to be crated, but prefers not to if you'll allow that. He is the typical Shepherd energy, where he moves about checking things out and with curiosity. He is quite obedient and smart. He was a dream dog while the vet poked and prodded in inspected teeth and ears and drew blood. He was at ease at the vet's office when entering the lobby and being in a place with lots of dog smells. Maverick is a strong boy, both in physical strength and interpersonal acceptance of what events come his way. He has show great trust in new people as he was transferred. from multiple cars and meeting different people who were helping transport him to his foster home with Critter Cavalry. He meets strangers with a friendly smile and a seemingly awareness that they just want to help him. He readily jumps up into a new car when asked to do so, which proves he has no hip issues or movement problems whatsoever for such a big boy. He is handsome now, but soon very soon, he will be stunning once his coat improves with good food and grooming. This boy enjoys being brushed and will be fun to do as you watch the loving results of your effort produce even more good looks. Maverick is easy to love and he will readily love you back. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show some barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he shows absolutely no issues. Crowder is a striking mostly black German Shepherd with a tall, solid build, weighing in around 80 pounds. This handsome guy is everything you'd expect from a shepherd—smart, loyal, and absolutely devoted to his people. He loves being near his humans and is always up for quality time, whether it’s exploring the outdoors or lounging on the couch. Crowder gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has a sweet, social nature. He already knows some basic commands like sit and down, and while he walks decently on a leash, he’s a strong boy who could benefit from a bit more training to curb his pulling. He’s ready to thrive in any home but would especially love a yard to roam or an active person to join him on hikes.
