Story
Currently located in: Orland, ME Adoptable in: Maine - Must be willing to do meet and greet/take home at current home Good with dog: Rudy is dog selective and does not do well with other male dogs. there is an opportunity for his sister to go home with him, if you'd like to adopt the pair! Good with cats: No thanks! Those are super fun chase toys! Good with kids: Yes! Just keep in mind he can sometimes be unaware of how big he really is so he could knock a small child over accidentally. As always adult supervision is required. Crate trained: Unknown House trained: Yes! Hello. I’m Rudy, a handsome two-year old German Shepherd. I spent my development years with my sister where we had an acre of fenced yard to run around, chase squirrels and bark at the horses next door. However, I do not share my human well with the other male dogs in the house. I am looking for a new home with someone who thinks of me first, has plenty of time to make me feel special, and appreciates that I need extra love and attention. I only weigh 95 pounds, am house trained, and absolutely love tennis balls. My sister could come with me as well, but she can also stay behind because she gets along with the other dogs. If you think you are the right match for Rudy, please apply to adopt here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1doqwbKyo7ZFi9Wq2ss-et4DLqM7esQfvEUdXVZBnA98/viewform?edit_requested=true&pli=1 Adoption fee is $350, local adoption only. If you would like to potentially adopt Rudy and his sister, adoption fee is $500, local adoption only. We will NEVER ask or accept funds until your pets are in your hands. Please beware of scams! All of our animals are fully vetted before going to their fur-ever homes. They are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, up to date on flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and microchipped! Please Note: All animals are posted until they are officially adopted. This animal may have other interested adopters in line. We are very quick to respond and process applications! You will be required to provide 2 non-family personal references, a home video tour, and a vet reference if you’ve previously had animals. Please feel free to send a video to our email or Facebook upon submitting an application; this lets us know you are serious and ready but also helps us to get you approved quickly. We will text and or call upon receiving your application to schedule a phone interview. You must be an approved adopter to go on meet and greets. This saves everyone’s time- especially our gracious foster families! This also allows for you to take the animals home from the meet and greet if you so choose. Interested in fostering? We would love to have you join our family! Fill out the same application above- we have our fosters go through the same process as adopters! Questions? Please email whiskersfunds@gmail.com or message us on Facebook! Story
Cooper is a sweet senior Shepherd with a gentle heart who's searching for a patient adopter willing to give him the time he needs to feel safe. He can be shy when meeting new people, but once he trusts you, his true personality shines through. Cooper is a loving, loyal, and intelligent companion who enjoys leisurely walks, soaking up attention from his favorite people, and taking life at his own pace. Cooper has made several canine friends during his time at HES and truly enjoys their company. While he's not the life of the playgroup, he loves being around other dogs and often gains confidence from their presence. He's done well with friendly dogs of all sizes and energy levels, especially those who respect his space and gentle nature. He could thrive in a home with a calm, well-mannered canine companion, but he'd also be happy as your one and only as long as he's given plenty of time and patience to settle in. A quiet, low-key home would be the perfect fit for this sweet senior. Spend a little time getting to know Cooper, and you'll discover what we've all fallen in love with: a kind, gentle soul who's just waiting for someone to see the wonderful dog hiding beneath his shy smile.

Story
Meet Sydney, a serene and affectionate Belgian Malinois Shepherd mix with a heart as gentle as her gaze. Sydney is the definition of calm—nothing seems to faze her. She’s incredibly dog and cat friendly, and her low to medium energy level makes her a wonderful match for a peaceful home. Sydney is being fostered in a loving home in San Antonio, TX, where she gets along beautifully with her German Shepherd foster sister. Sydney walks beautifully on a leash and makes an excellent walking buddy for those who enjoy quiet neighborhood strolls. However, her true happy place is outside—she absolutely thrives in a yard where she can explore, relax, and enjoy nature. A home with outdoor space is a must for this sweet girl. Potty trained and polite, Sydney is well-mannered around the house. She's a little shy when meeting new people or visiting unfamiliar places, so she’ll need a patient and loving family willing to give her time to settle in. Once she trusts you, she’ll show you her soft, affectionate side and soak up every bit of attention you're willing to give. Sydney is also a cozy cuddle buddy—she loves curling up next to you on the couch for some quiet bonding time. While she’s not a fan of car rides, Sydney is happy living the homebody life. She’s currently looking for a foster or adopter in Central Texas who can offer her the calm, consistent environment she deserves. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Sydney is ready to make your heart her home. Oliver is a very sweet and loving dog. He gets along with just about anything besides squirrels. He likes to give you his paw when he wants attention and is a bit of a whiny when it comes to getting his food. He also is very scared of fireworks/gunshots. Overall he is a big baby and loves attention.

Story
Decker was adopted from a shelter at 6 months and we've had him for the past 8 years. He was the perfect dog while we lived out west and were able to go on hikes and adventures 24/7. Life circumstances have changed for me and unfortunately we can no longer give him the life he needs. I've moved back to TN, gotten married and recently had a daughter. While I would love to be able to keep him, we no longer have free time to take him on walks, and give him the tremendous amount of exercise and mental stimulation he needs. Also, he has become extremely possessive over me, to the point where he barks at my wife when she enters the room around the baby. That's just not something we can tolerate. We've tried training and positive reinforcement but nothing works. Behavioral Issues: He is a dog that is EXTREMELY attached to his owner. If he doesn't have regular exercise and stimulation, he can become VERY destructive at home. He needs wide open spaces and constant exercise
