Story
Buddy is a 5yr old GSD full blooded intact male. I took him in from a friend whose neighbor was ill/dying and could not care for him. I am unsure of other canine vaccines but I did take him for rabies shot. Buddy is a great companion, just wants to be loved and will just hang out by your side. However I have a female GSD and a male Great Pyrenees (another surrender). And they all just don’t want to get along.😞 otherwise I would keep him. Buddy’s a little shy at first but he warms up quick. He is good with my grandson that’s a toddler, I don’t know how he is with cats and he’s trying to get along with chickens lol I would love to find him a great loving home where he would be part of the family. Buddy is house trained and crate trained. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you and God bless.

Story
This girl has a million dollar smile and sweet personality to match. She is initially shy with new folks but warms up very quickly and yearns to be loved. She walks very well on a leash, preferring to take in the scenery with her eyes instead of her nose, meaning she's a great walker if you want to move along. She would probably really enjoy hiking. When walking, Harley will frequently look back just to make sure you're still at the other end of the leash. She is not overly interested in toys but this may come with time as she settles in and feels more comfortable with her surroundings. She has made some canine friends here at HES and goes to playgroups. If you have another dog, we can do a meet and greet to see if she would be a good fit for your home. Another plus - she is also likely housebroken. Come meet this sweet girl with the most beautiful soul.

Story
Raised in the wild, Liberty was a true street dog. After a life on her own, she was finally able to be caught and taken to HES. Now out of harm's way, Libby's able to be worry-free for the first time, and that's allowed her to focus on other things like playing, and socializing and taking leisurely naps on a bed. Liberty has been spending time in foster care, and is learning a lot from her foster fur siblings. She gets braver by the day - her funny and playful personality has started to shine! Her ideal forever family would be one with an already-established pack, and lots of patience and understanding. 1 or 2 confident, friendly dogs in the household is a MUST for this girl. Liberty MIGHT not ever become a snuggly and affectionate dog with people, and her forever family will need to be ok with that. She'll snuggle with her pack, and she'll groom and be groomed by them. She'll play and eat and sleep with her fellow dogs. THAT is what makes her truly happy! It'll take someone special to see her potential, but she deserves a home, and there has to be one out there perfect for her.

Story
Meet Sydney, a serene and affectionate German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix with a heart as gentle as her gaze. Sydney is the definition of calm—nothing seems to faze her. She’s incredibly dog and cat friendly, and her low to medium energy level makes her a wonderful match for a peaceful home. Sydney is being fostered in a loving home in San Antonio, TX, where she gets along beautifully with her German Shepherd foster sister. Sydney walks beautifully on a leash and makes an excellent walking buddy for those who enjoy quiet neighborhood strolls. However, her true happy place is outside—she absolutely thrives in a yard where she can explore, relax, and enjoy nature. A home with outdoor space is a must for this sweet girl. Potty trained and polite, Sydney is well-mannered around the house. She's a little shy when meeting new people or visiting unfamiliar places, so she’ll need a patient and loving family willing to give her time to settle in. Once she trusts you, she’ll show you her soft, affectionate side and soak up every bit of attention you're willing to give. Sydney is also a cozy cuddle buddy—she loves curling up next to you on the couch for some quiet bonding time. While she’s not a fan of car rides, Sydney is happy living the homebody life. She’s currently looking for a foster or adopter in Central Texas who can offer her the calm, consistent environment she deserves. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Sydney is ready to make your heart her home.
