Story
Poor Tucker, his owner ended up in a nursing home, not coming out. Tucker had no where to go so he has ended up in our shelter. He was a pretty sad boy at first, slowly he is warming up to us and ready for a new home. He would do well in a home without small children. He did live with another dog who has already been adopted. Tucker is approx. 60 lbs. He is pretty much housetrained and quiet. Visit him at the Rockbridge Spca or email manager@rockbridgespca.net. heartworm tested: Negative visit our fb page: dogs of rockbridge and rockbridge spca. NOTE: all animals adopted are taken straight to a local veterinarian for spay/neuter. We do adopt out of area providing adopter is will to make more than one trip. There are NO exceptions, and we do not hold animals. All Kittens and puppies must weigh 2 lbs. for surgery and there are a limited number of veterinarians in our area that will do a pediatric spay/neuter. please note the Rockbridge Spca does not have emotional support animals or service animals. we do not adopt to college students, however, they are welcome to volunteer. a fenced area may be required.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Bourbon is a year old German Shepherd/Walker Hound mix. He is big and tall, around 70 lbs and full of life. He is a regular day camper at Camp Merricks and has been part of their fall group classes. He's learning all the good things dogs should know! Bourbon loves to play with other dogs but needs playmates that can handle his rambunctious play style. Older dogs that will correct him when he gets too rough are perfect. Bourbon is the last of 8 puppies that came to us over the summer. Everyone else has found their homes so Bourbon hopes he will get his before the holidays. Story
✨ Meet Shadow ✨ Shadow is a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix who’s quickly stolen the hearts of everyone he meets! He’s a loving, playful, and social guy who makes friends easily and is always up for some fun. Sadly, Shadow’s had a couple of rough starts and has been let down twice before by inexperienced owners. But since coming into foster care, we’ve learned just how wonderful he really is. He’s active, energetic, and eager to please — the kind of dog who thrives with someone who understands the shepherd spirit. Anyone with breed experience will find him an easy, joyful companion. Shadow isn’t a fan of cats (he thinks they’re for chasing!) and would do best in a home without them, and small dogs are a no go as well. He much prefers the company of female dogs if he had to choose. Now, Shadow’s ready for his next adventure — and this time, it needs to be forever. If you think you might be his person, please fill out an adoption application to meet this amazing boy. ❤️

Meet Ryder, a fun loving, sweet German Shepherd puppy. Picked up as a stray and never reclaimed he has found himself safe in a foster home while he waits for his forever home. He's still a puppy with lots of puppy antiques. He'd do well in most any home, just needs a little training and a lot of love. If you're interested in meeting this little guy, please contact us for an adoption application! We'd love to be able to schedule a meet and greet once that's been completed and submitted!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We have not met Dax, but his family wants to find him a different home, and asked us to help. Here is what they say: His name is Dax. He is full of energy and loves to run. He does currently live with 3 other dogs but has major aggression towards any new animals. It is hard to take him in public and to the park due to his aggression. He is mainly German shepherd and rottweiler but has some Doberman and wolfdog mixed in. He has attacked stray cats and dogs that have come into our yard but has never shown aggression to any people. He is very energetic but is very easy with kids of all ages and elderly people." If you are seeking a dog to be your best friend, and are willing to keep him safe while he learns boundaries, perhaps this handsome boy would be a good match. Do note that he has high prey drive, and wants to protect you from whatever enters the yard. A neuter would help him immensely as well. Apply and we will send to his family for consideration.    PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 4, 2025, 2:48 pm
