Story
Meet our Roxie (FKA Rosita—one of our adorable muppet babies)! This sweet, sassy, and spunky girl is now 4.5 months old, weighs about 45 lbs, and is ready to bounce her way into your heart. A German Shepherd/Border Collie mix with a big personality and an even bigger cuddle quota, Roxie is the perfect mix of playtime energy and snuggle-time charm. Roxie was recently returned after being a bit too much fun for the older dog in her previous home, but don’t let that fool you. She’s a total sweetheart who loves other dogs, does wonderfully with kids, and has even spent time in our cat room (she gets excited around the kitties, so a cat-savvy home would be best!). Roxie tries to keep her kennel tidy, but changes in routine tend to unsettle her, so she will need some time to decompress and adjust to a new home. With patience and consistency, she will learn her new household’s routine and settle in beautifully.

Story
Are you looking for a new light in your life this Christmas? Reevah could be the joy you are looking for. She is a 5 yr old 60 lbs German Shepherd mix. She is extremely loyal and loves her people very much. She has basic obedience manners and is absolutely fabulous out in public. She thrives being out and about with her person and taking in all the hustle and bustle of life. She is truly a dog that will make a partner for an adopter. Housebroken, crate trained, loves her toys but minds her manners about other things, great in the car and is politely social when out. She does have some prey drive so is not suitable for a home with cats or very small dogs. Located in Danville Virginia but transport is available. Story
Hi! I'm Shiloh, a young pup full of energy and love. Each day, I learn new tricks quickly because I'm super smart! Playing fetch is my favorite, and I'm always ready for a game. I love meeting new friends, both furry and human, and I greet everyone with a wagging tail. I'm also quite brave; nothing really scares me! I dream of a home where I can share all my love and fun. If you're looking for a sweet, playful companion, I'm the perfect pup for you! Let's make wonderful memories together. Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, the adoption fee is $150 ##2511573##

Story
Cloud was given up and was very malnourished when he arrived with us. We have nurtured him as best as we could and now he is in great shape and it’s time he finds his new forever home. He’s a very sweet boy, he gets along with small breeds not with bigger male breeds but he’s okay around females. He is a bit of an anxious doggy but I’m sure it’s because he’s been home to home and not well cared for. He is a teddy bear who whines when he’s getting love and attention, he is a good boy. Cloud loves loves playing fetch! He can also jump 6 ft fences lol he loves jumping over things. I wish I can keep all the dogs I rescue but it does get very expensive and unfortunately have to start finding homes for the ones I’ve rescued. We are looking for the right family to take him in. Cloud is going on 5 yo this November and is in good health/shape we also have his DNA health panel and is Cleared from all disease. If anyone is interested in a meet and greet or has any questions please reach out.

Story
Spirit is a super cute 3 1/2 month old German/Australian shepherd/Sharpei mix. She is so sweet and energetic. Loves to play fetch, great with other dogs, loves to cuddle and sleep with you. She's great in the car and goes for short drives for errands and into petsmart/dog park. Her ideal forever home is one who has time to train her and/or put her in puppy training classes - she would do great, she is so smart.; Someone who is able to be home a majority of the time with her as shes too young to be alone all day.; Has a backyard big enough to run around in, she is so fast and runs figure 8s in my yard without tiring and I dont think an apartment/townhouse backyard would be appropriate for her and her energy levels.; Someone who will take her on regular walks despite having a backyard, goes to the dog park to socialize her, and maybe even take her on trips and hikes.

Story
Hi, A good friend had these wonderful dogs in Woodbridge. But when her mom had a stroke, she moved to NC to take care of her, and could not take the dogs. They are playful and friendly, good with kids. I have shot records for both and Willow (female) is AKC registered, Wolfgang is also purebred. I already had 2 German Shepherds, and thought we could take on 2 more. But 4 is too much. Please take good care of Wolf, he's very friendly and playful (oh the belly rubs!!). Thanks.
