Story
Meet Jester! This handsome hunk came in as a stray and was never claimed and is looking for a new home! We are estimating him to be a year old. We are looking for a breed specific rescue or very breed experienced adopter as he does have his ways. He is extremely sweet and will most definitely protect his people. He was evaluated by two trainers who saw a lot of potential in him. He loves his squeaky toys and loves to run around. He would do best in a home with much older kids. He has done well with submissive dogs, and he prefers the ladies but if you do have another dog meet and greets are required. If you are interested in Jester we are open Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm or you can call the shelter to schedule an appointment at 804-520-9397 ext.5

She’s a very smart dog. Loves attention. Loves her belly getting scratched. She’s crate trained. We trained her with a shock collar but shock her twice the entire time we’ve had her. She was raised with cats and birds. She doesn’t like small dogs. But we have not reintroduced her to small dogs. She’s full of energy for age.

Story
Grizzly is one big, handsome, fluffy boy! Just look at him! he's around 2-3 years old and weighs over 70 lbs. He is outgoing and just wants to play all the time. He already knows sit. He really enjoys going outside. A big, fenced-in yard would be perfect for him. His temporary foster said he slept overnight in a crate with no issues. He was quiet and a good boy. Because he's a lot of dog, he may not be the best fit for all dog friends. He can be dog selective and really likes all the attention on him. Grizzly wants to be king of the castle! If you are interested in meeting this pet, please call us at (804) 748-1683, option "2", to schedule an appointment. Our hours are Monday - Friday, 10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Story
Jackson is a complete goober! Loveable, silly, friendly, smart, and with very selective hearing! He will snuggle with you on the sofa or in bed if you let him without hesitation! He also enjoys walks in nature, hoards his toys but never has an issue sharing with other dogs, has lived with cats and finds them a bit too interesting. So a home with a cat may not be his first pick. He would love a home with at least one other dog for company. Loves a fenced yard, but also enjoys walking on a leash. And best of all, he loves giving lots of kisses! He is currently just under 100 lbs, is neutered and fully vaccinated. He doesn't mind taking a bath, but he is not a fan of having his feet touched, so the vet usually trims his nails. He loves being groomed - especially the blow dryer! He loves listening to people talk and his head tilts are adorable while listening. He also walks well on a leash, but is reactive to other dogs while on a leash.
