Story
This is Sam, a 7 year old German Short-haired Pointer with a lil' pit in him, and we are looking to rehome him swiftly. My mom's health has been declining, and we are moving within the month (everything came up very, very quickly). He really needs a home where he can be taken better care of and to be able to be given more attention. Now he does come with some...difficulties. He failed training when he took it when my parents got him when he was 2 years old, and it was never attempted again. He tears things up. He bolts outside if he gets the chance. He grabs unattended food. He either hates or loves other dogs. He barks at people and charges when he is on a lead (I think it is a protective thing), but if he is off his lead he can be super friendly. He can be very sweet though. He enjoys playing, running, and sometimes forgets he isn't a tiny dog. Also, he may have some sensory issues with seeing, reacting, and smelling.

Story
Meet Annie!! Annie is a one-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer mix that exudes happiness. She came to Furkids after her previous owners could no longer care for her due to their busy schedules. Annie is a very sweet and very smart girl. She loves people and other dogs. She is super friendly and loves to go everywhere with her person. She loves car rides whether it's to go get pup cups or to go on adventures. She is amazing on leash too. She would thrive with an active home that can keep her busy and engaged. A fenced-in yard would be perfect for her to play fetch or to run and play. She is great with larger dogs around her size but may chase smaller pets (out of curiosity), so she’d do best in a home without cats or small animals. Annie would also prefer a home without very small children as she may accidentally knock them over. She loves to cuddle on the couch after a walk and has slept in bed with her prior owners. She loves toys and antlers. She is food motivated and eager to please. She is just terrific and DOES NOT HAVE the crazy high energy that is typically associated with this breed. She is very loyal and is a velcro dog (she likes to be by your side). Annie is house trained, crate trained and ready to go!! Annie weighs 47lbs and her est. birth date is 01/16/2025. She has been spayed, microchipped and given all age appropriate vaccines and preventions. Annie has an adoption fee of $510. If you want to know more about Annie, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
This beautiful spotted 4-month-old girl is a heart stealer that is hard to resist. She is curious and loves to play with toys and all the other dogs in the house, she particularly likes to follow around the big dogs which have been great teachers for her. She can be shy and unsure when meeting new people but give her time to warm up and she will be your best friend. Emillia has done well with crate training and with regular outings is doing fabulous with potty training. She loves chasing bugs and balls, but here favorite place is in the doggie sandbox. She is a foodie girl and gets very excited for meal times and sits for her treats, the sound of the ice maker brings her running as she wants a piece of ice too. The vet thinks she will likely be a medium sized dog around 50lbs. Like all puppies, Emillia needs a home with patience and consistency to help her be the best dog. We are looking for a family that has someone home most of the day so Emillia can get the attention she needs for her age. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Truffle Female German Shorthair Pointer DOB: 11/27/2022Adoption Fee: $200Truffle is a sweet girl that is looking for her forever. This girl is a working girl, she likes to have a job, and does have a high prey drive. She will need lot's of exercise and a big back yard to keep that energy down. She doesn't really care too much for other dogs, though she tolerates them. This girl is more of a all work, no play girl. She does like attention though. Give this girl something to do and she will flourish! She would do great as a hunting dog, or any other type of activities like going to the lake, running, jogging, etc. She would do well with someone who is active and can keep up with her. She'd need someone who is experienced. If you think truffle would be the girl for you, please come by and meet her. You can put in an application, do a meet and greet, and she can be all yours! Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are current on vaccines/deworming, and microchipped. We are open 12pm-5pm Sunday-Friday and 10 am-5pm on Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line.
