This is Sam, a 7 year old German Short-haired Pointer with a lil' pit in him, and we are looking to rehome him swiftly. My mom's health has been declining, and we are moving within the month (everything came up very, very quickly). He really needs a home where he can be taken better care of and to be able to be given more attention. Now he does come with some...difficulties. He failed training when he took it when my parents got him when he was 2 years old, and it was never attempted again. He tears things up. He bolts outside if he gets the chance. He grabs unattended food. He either hates or loves other dogs. He barks at people and charges when he is on a lead (I think it is a protective thing), but if he is off his lead he can be super friendly. He can be very sweet though. He enjoys playing, running, and sometimes forgets he isn't a tiny dog. Also, he may have some sensory issues with seeing, reacting, and smelling.

This girl is a working girl, she likes to have a job, and does have a high prey drive. She will need lot's of exercise and a big back yard to keep that energy down. She doesn't really care too much for other dogs, though she tolerates them. This girl is more of a all work, no play girl. She does like attention though. Give this girl something to do and she will flourish! She would do great as a hunting dog, or any other type of activities like going to the lake, running, jogging, etc. She would do well with someone who is active and can keep up with her. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking.
