This will happen very quickly, usually the same or next day. (unless you apply on a weekend and vet records can not be verified in which case it will be the next day the vet is open.) If you do not hear from us, you were not approved. There will be no explanation or argument. 3.) Adoptions are set up by appointment only. We do not have “hours” of operation. DO NOT show up expecting to “see the dogs”. We are not a municipal shelter- we are a rescue.4.) If the dog is posted as Available on Petfinder, it is available but may have pending applications and meet and greets set up.5.) If you are not ready to immediately meet the dog you are applying for, please do not apply- we are too busy for window shoppers! Every dog is available to be taken home with you at the time of the meet and greet.6.) We recommend you bring a carrier with you to transport the dog home as some can get carsick. Adult dogs and most puppies over 6 months of age will require a slip lead- not a harness, Not a flat collar and leash but a SLIP LEAD that does not need to be fitted and is the only approved method of safe restraint for fearful and flight risk dogs.7.) Adoption fees can be paid with Cash, Check, Venmo, PayPal and credit Card. This girl is a working girl, she likes to have a job, and does have a high prey drive. She will need lot's of exercise and a big back yard to keep that energy down. She doesn't really care too much for other dogs, though she tolerates them. This girl is more of a all work, no play girl. She does like attention though. Give this girl something to do and she will flourish! She would do great as a hunting dog, or any other type of activities like going to the lake, running, jogging, etc. She would do well with someone who is active and can keep up with her. She'd need someone who is experienced. If you think truffle would be the girl for you, please come by and meet her. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application.
