Story
Andi is a very sweet 16 month old purebred German shorthaired pointer. She is great with other animals and children. She is very easy-going. Nothing upsets her. She loves to be outside and to play fetch. She is high energy, but also loves to snuggle. She knows lots of tricks and has had some simple training in tracking. Would make a great family dog, but would also make a great hunting dog.

Story
Meet Ruth & June! 🐾🤍🖤These beautiful black-and-white Pointer mix sisters are around 1 year old and full of life! Pointer mixes are known for their intelligence and athleticism, and Ruth and June are no exception. They came to us as strays, but you’d never know it by how loving and friendly they are. Both girls are incredibly sweet and affectionate. They enjoy attention, love making new friends, and are always ready for fun. With their higher energy levels, they would thrive with active families who enjoy walks, hikes, playtime in the yard, or any adventure that lets them stretch their legs and show off their playful personalities. While they are sisters, they are not a bonded pair and can be adopted separately. Each girl is ready to find a family of her very own — a place where she can get plenty of love, exercise, and the stability she deserves. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic, and sweet companion to share your days with, Ruth or June could be the perfect fit. Come meet them and see which one steals your heart! 💕Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. Story
Truffle Female German Shorthair Pointer DOB: 11/27/2022Adoption Fee: $200Truffle is a sweet girl that is looking for her forever. This girl is a working girl, she likes to have a job, and does have a high prey drive. She will need lot's of exercise and a big back yard to keep that energy down. She doesn't really care too much for other dogs, though she tolerates them. This girl is more of a all work, no play girl. She does like attention though. Give this girl something to do and she will flourish! She would do great as a hunting dog, or any other type of activities like going to the lake, running, jogging, etc. She would do well with someone who is active and can keep up with her. She'd need someone who is experienced. If you think truffle would be the girl for you, please come by and meet her. You can put in an application, do a meet and greet, and she can be all yours! Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Thank you, HSMC Staff ADOPTION FEES Adoption Fees may change without notice.
