Story
Theo is a loving, goofy, and social guy who enjoys being part of the action! He loves staying active and exploring the outdoors, and he does well with other dogs. Theo is also gentle and patient with children, making him a fun and affectionate companion for an active family.Theo does best when given time to build trust with new people, especially when it comes to body handling. He has made great progress with resource guarding, but he will need a patient home that understands his boundaries around food and continues to help him feel safe and secure.Theo has previously lived with a cat. Once he learned the cat`s boundaries, he was playful and submissive with his feline housemate. He may still be tempted to chase a cat at times, so any future cat introductions should be slow, supervised, and respectful of both animals` boundaries. With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, Theo has so much potential to be a wonderful companion!

Story
Hi, I’m Pixie — Professional Snuggler, Part-Time Comedian I may be part German Shorthaired Pointer and part Blue Heeler (with a few mystery sprinkles mixed in), but don’t let that fool you—I’m more of a cuddle-on-the-couch than run-a-marathon kind of girl. At just two years old, I’ve already perfected my skills: loving kids, making friends with other dogs, giving cats their personal space, and keeping your house accident-free. I’ve got the smarts from my Pointer side and the loyalty from my Heeler roots, but what I really bring to the table is warmth. Think of me as your furry weighted blanket with a tail wag. So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect best friend—sweet, social, and snuggly—well… I’m right here. Now let’s go home and claim our spot on the couch. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  ##2507063##

Story
We found Oreo when my dad went out hunting with my sister and he came up to them and would stay there and then disappear for a while and then come back. They realized he looked a little skinny and they didn’t want to leave him there to be all alone again. He brought Oreo home and we took him to get checked to see if he was micro chipped but he wasn’t and we uploaded a picture of him to facebook to see if anyone would come forward about being his owner. He’s a really sweet dog and has never once tried to bite any of our family members. Compared to our other dog he’s sweeter and really gentle. We believe he is on the younger side because he’s so incredibly playful and he doesn’t seem to be that old. We would love for him to have a home where he’s able to continue to go hunting with his owner as my father is afraid to take him with him since he doesn’t know how to properly care for him in that aspect. He’s such a sweet boy and we would love for him to find a loving and caring home.

Story
Her name is Persephone and she’s 10 months old, very beautiful, special and smart girl. Needs a home where she loved and wanted. Loves to play with toys, run, very curious girl that needs to smell every corner of the fence. Very fast learner and will do anything for a treat, she will sit and give paw, laying down for a. Persephone is doing much better with my cat, she understands they don’t play with dogs so must of the time she’s ignoring them. She want to play with my dogs but my dogs don’t, my dog just want to be lazy and she can play for awhile. She would be great to take for hikes, runs and camping. Persephone can’t wait to fine her forever home!

Story
Marlee is a stunning and spirited Dalmatian mix who also happens to be deaf—but that doesn’t slow her down one bit! This high-energy girl is full of life, joy, and enthusiasm. She’s currently in training to learn sign language commands and is picking them up with her signature zest and determination.Marlee is looking for a dedicated and active family who can keep up with her playful energy and continue her training journey. Because she`s deaf, consistency and patience are key to helping her thrive. She’ll need a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, play, and burn off her zoomies.Marlee has been cat tested and isn’t aggressive, but she does love a good chase—playfully, of course! She’d do best in a home where cats are either dog-savvy or not easily startled. If you’re ready for a loving, energetic companion who will reward your efforts with endless affection and tail wags, Marlee might just be your perfect match!Marlee`s adoption fee is $200, which includes her spay, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (if over 9 months old), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. If you are interested in adopting Marlee, you may fill out an application at www.tlcsh.org or you are welcome to make a Match Making appointment to come out and meet her first. We are open Tuesday – Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
