Story
Hi, I’m Pixie — Professional Snuggler, Part-Time Comedian I may be part German Shorthaired Pointer and part Blue Heeler (with a few mystery sprinkles mixed in), but don’t let that fool you—I’m more of a cuddle-on-the-couch than run-a-marathon kind of girl. At just two years old, I’ve already perfected my skills: loving kids, making friends with other dogs, giving cats their personal space, and keeping your house accident-free. I’ve got the smarts from my Pointer side and the loyalty from my Heeler roots, but what I really bring to the table is warmth. Think of me as your furry weighted blanket with a tail wag. So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect best friend—sweet, social, and snuggly—well… I’m right here. Now let’s go home and claim our spot on the couch. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption. ##2507063##

Story
Are you looking for a loving dog who would love to take naps on your lap? Emillia is looking for a family that is ready for the excitement of a puppy, but who is already past most of the puppy challenging stages. This sweetheart is crate and potty trained, has all her shot and is spayed and is working on leash training and recall. Her favorite things are playing fetch and tug of war, but she also likes being outside and watching the birds and squirrels. Emillia will need to be in a home with another playful dog to help her build some confidence. When first meeting Emillia she becomes shy and unsure, but she warms up quickly. The vet expects her to be between 50-60lbs, and this girl adores mealtime and treats. The best home for Emillia would be one with a fenced in yard as she blossoms in familiar surroundings. Emillia has done well with children and cats so she should fit in with most households. Emillia is happy to sleep in her crate, in a bed on the floor or in the bed with you at night. When crated she doesn’t make a peep and waits patiently for you to open the door so she can give you all her love. She is in the teething stage, but her love for antlers keeps her occupied. Emillia has a velvet muzzle and belly, unique spots and a brindle mask, making her visually gorgeous. Her foster family adores her and knows once adopted she brighten the life of her family. If you would like to learn more about Emillia please apply with Hero Dog Rescue. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Meet Sir Walter - a gentle 10-year-old senior boy with a heart full of love and a spirit that continues to shine despite the challenges he faces. Sir Walter is both deaf and blind, but he navigates the world beautifully through trust, touch, and the comfort of being close to his people.

This sweet boy doesnt ask for much in life. He simply wants a safe place to rest, a kind person to stay near, and a home where he can feel loved and secure. Sir Walter has a calm, affectionate nature and quietly melts hearts everywhere he goes. Even without being able to see or hear, he still finds so much comfort in companionship and happily settles beside the people he trusts.

Sir Walter has also done well interacting with other dogs, showing himself to be a gentle and social companion around canine friends.

There is something incredibly special about him - the way he leans into affection, relaxes beside you, and reminds everyone that love doesnt depend on perfect senses. He deserves a soft place to land and a family willing to help guide him through his golden years with patience and kindness.

If youre looking for a truly special dog who will fill your home with quiet love and warmth, Sir Walter is ready to meet you.

Story
Dally Your Little Shadow with a Big Heart Dally is 4½ years old and as sweet as they come. She came into rescue as a devoted mama and raised nine beautiful puppies — all of whom have found loving homes. Now it’s finally her turn to be someone’s whole world. Dally lives in a foster home with big dogs, a little 10-lb pup, a cat, and kids — and she fits right in. She’s crate trained and 99% potty trained… she just prefers a little company for her potty breaks. If you don’t walk out with her, she’ll politely sit on the porch and wait for her favorite human to join her. She’s not dramatic — she just believes everything is better together. Dally is the ultimate companion. She’ll follow you from room to room and happily curl up beside you on the couch. She doesn’t ask for much — just love, reassurance, and a forever family to call her own. After raising nine babies, it’s Dally’s turn to be the baby.
