Story
Are you looking for a loving dog who would love to take naps on your lap? Emillia is looking for a family that is ready for the excitement of a puppy, but who is already past most of the puppy challenging stages. This sweetheart is crate and potty trained, has all her shot and is spayed and is working on leash training and recall. Her favorite things are playing fetch and tug of war, but she also likes being outside and watching the birds and squirrels. Emillia will need to be in a home with another playful dog to help her build some confidence. When first meeting Emillia she becomes shy and unsure, but she warms up quickly. The vet expects her to be between 50-60lbs, and this girl adores mealtime and treats. The best home for Emillia would be one with a fenced in yard as she blossoms in familiar surroundings. Emillia has done well with children and cats so she should fit in with most households. Emillia is happy to sleep in her crate, in a bed on the floor or in the bed with you at night. When crated she doesn’t make a peep and waits patiently for you to open the door so she can give you all her love. She is in the teething stage, but her love for antlers keeps her occupied. Emillia has a velvet muzzle and belly, unique spots and a brindle mask, making her visually gorgeous. Her foster family adores her and knows once adopted she brighten the life of her family. If you would like to learn more about Emillia please apply with Hero Dog Rescue. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. Story
Meet Reba! This little lady is a playful, high-energy pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Reba originally came to us as part of a large litter, and she’s grown into a fun-loving, affectionate puppy who is always ready for her next adventure. She absolutely loves to play—especially with other dogs—but can be a bit rough during playtime, so she’ll need continued guidance to help her learn appropriate and gentle interactions. Like many puppies her age, Reba is still working on her manners. She is not yet housetrained and can be a bit mouthy when she gets excited, but she’s already showing her smarts by knowing basic commands like sit, stay, and lay down. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, she has so much potential to grow into a well-mannered and loyal companion. Reba would do best with an active family or adopter who is ready to match her energy, provide structure, and continue her training and socialization. In return, she’ll give you endless fun, love, and puppy kisses. The puppies have an est. birth date 11/29/2025. Reba has all been spayed, microchipped and given all age appropriate vaccines and preventions. The puppies all have an adoption fee of $315. Puppies require a lot of time and commitment. Please make sure your schedule can accommodate a puppy as they will be a member of your family for the next 10 to 15 years. If you want to know more about Reba, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Hi, I’m Pixie — Professional Snuggler, Part-Time Comedian I may be part German Shorthaired Pointer and part Blue Heeler (with a few mystery sprinkles mixed in), but don’t let that fool you—I’m more of a cuddle-on-the-couch than run-a-marathon kind of girl. At just two years old, I’ve already perfected my skills: loving kids, making friends with other dogs, giving cats their personal space, and keeping your house accident-free. I’ve got the smarts from my Pointer side and the loyalty from my Heeler roots, but what I really bring to the table is warmth. Think of me as your furry weighted blanket with a tail wag. So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect best friend—sweet, social, and snuggly—well… I’m right here. Now let’s go home and claim our spot on the couch. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  ##2507063##

Story
We are looking to rehome our beloved dog, Malcom, to a caring and responsible household where he can thrive. Malcom is a six-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer/Border Collie mix who is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. He is a loyal, affectionate companion who forms strong bonds with his people, knows basic commands, and has a very active nature, so he will do best with someone who can provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and engagement. He does best in a calm, stable environment and, for his comfort and well-being, needs to be the only dog in the home, as he does not do well sharing space with other dogs. He does not have experience around small children, so a home without young kids or with older children would be the best fit. He would make a wonderful companion for someone who can match his energy level and give him the attention, structure, and love he deserves. Our priority is finding him a safe, understanding home where he can live happily and securely.

Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Willett is a gentle 13-year-old Hound/Pointer mix with a story that tugs at the heart. After spending years in a loving home, she was returned to Furkids when her owner tragically passed away. She's now been patiently waiting three years for a second chance at forever. Willett is the ultimate low-maintenance companion—independent, mellow, and fully housetrained. She enjoys peaceful moments sitting by the bench after and/or during her walks and isn’t shy about expressing herself with a few barks while she bird/dog watches. She thrives in a quiet, adult-only home where she can be your one and only. While incredibly sweet with her people, Willett prefers a low-traffic household without frequent visitors and no other pets. If you're looking for a loyal, peaceful friend to share your calm days and cozy nights, Willett may be the perfect match. Give this lovely senior girl the safe, loving home she deserves. Willett weighs 64lbs. and is approximately 13 years old (est. birth date 04/01/2013). Willett has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. Willett's adoption fee is $85. If you want more information about Willett, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog.
