This is a program for dogs to learn basic commands and leash walking skills. I’m already mostly housebroken too, as long as you keep me on a schedule and get me outside regularly. I was transferred to Wayside from a rural shelter in Arkansas that didn’t have space for me. It was such a scary and confusing time! I still remember shaking in my kennel at the big shelter, hoping no one would notice me. With time, I began to make friends and have some fun. And then the best thing ever happened, when I was chosen to go to a loving foster home! My foster mom has been teaching me manners and showing me what it feels like to be loved and cared for in a real home. Ah, life is good!I quickly made myself at home and settled into my new routine in foster. Knowing what to expect has helped to put me at ease. Foster Mom takes me out every 4-6 hours and right before bed for a bathroom break, which has helped to set me up for success with housebreaking. On the occasion that I can’t get out in time, I’ve also learned how to use a pee pad. When no one is home, I happily stay in a gated off area of the kitchen with no problems. Marshall is a super sweet buddy. He loves being close to humans and enjoys laying in the same room where the action is happening. He has never shown aggression to our small kids, other humans, or any animals. He loves playing with other dogs and has lived with us and our cat without incident. He does have separation anxiety and does require a heavier duty kennel when left at home. He enjoys being outside and requires some exercise. Would make a great home for any family or with homes with other pets. He would also be best placed in a home where people work from home to minimize his kennel time. We unfortunately are having to move to an area with pet restrictions and want to find a good, loving home for Marshall!
