My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session.- During my time at Wayside, I have enjoyed being around other dogs. - I already know some basic commands!- I would thrive with an adopter who is ready to train a puppy!Cha-ching! I’m Cash–the spunkiest 5-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer on the block. If there is one thing I know, it’s how to play. Releasing all of my pent-up puppy energy is one of my favorite activities, especially if that involves doggie friends. Because I’m still a puppy, I have a lot to learn about being a dog. But I AM learning! I’m a student in Waifs with Wisdom, so before too long, I’ll be amazing at all things dog: walking on a leash, being confident in new environments, and knowing all the tricks. I know I said I’m learning to be confident in new spaces, but I’m not quite there yet. Unfortunately, due to children having health issues, we are no longer able to keep Bear and cannot provide the life he needs or deserves. This gorgeous pup is Olive, our friend with City of Raytown Animal Services. She's about 3 years old and is an amazing Chesapeake Bay retriever mix. Is she smart? Oh, yes, she is! Olive knows sit, down, stay, and shake, and she walks perfectly on a leash. She's also calm and loves people, including kids. Olive is working on dog-to-dog intros. She's still a little unsure, but with a slow introduction, she would do very well with another dog. We don't yet know how she is with cats. Meet our friend Andy from @Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption. This sweet, energetic guy has been waiting a while for his new home, but he knows the right person or people will see him and pick him soon. Read about Andy and then let us know if you'd like to meet him. Maybe you'll be the one to pick Andy. Let's start by telling you that Andy is funny and entertaining and loving and such a goof. He's an eight-year-old pointer mix who has plenty of pointer energy. He would love an adult-only home where there aren't a lot of people coming and going because new people can be scary. He would be fabulous in a home with patient people who adore him, and where he can go on lots of walks or runs and play ball outside -- his favorite game! An avid nature lover, Andy also likes to watch birds and squirrels. (He's really just a little nosey, so he'll happily keep an eye on the neighborhood for you, too. Remember Mrs. Kravitz from Bewitched?) Andy is also a very smart boy. He's already crate trained and house trained, knows basic commands, and is always up for learning more. Do you have other pets in your home? Andy could do well with another pet (including cats!), as long as he had a proper, slow introduction. And here's another cool thing about Andy -- he's currently in board and train with The Pet Connection and would continue with classes and support after adoption.
