What my friends at OHS say about me:I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Click the "meet me" button to start the process and schedule an appointment. To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things. I already know some basic cues such as, sit, stay, and walking nicely on leash.High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.I am used to living an active lifestyle! I would love to get up and go adventure with you. Walks, hikes, and trips to the beach all sound like a fantastic time! I had so much fun playing with other dogs here in the shelter. My friends at OHS think I would be great at making new dog friends! The type of home I'm looking for:I may do best in a home where there is a resident dog for me to play with!I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. I need to go to a home without small children. I may accidently knock them over in my excitement or try to steal their toys to play with.I need a home without cats or other small animals. It could be with you! Story
Meet Daisy! Daisy came to us after being surrendered to a shelter along with her sister and mother. Upon arrival, we discovered a concerning mass on her abdomen. Our veterinary team promptly evaluated her, and the mass was surgically removed and tested. Sadly, the results confirmed both squamous cell carcinoma and hemangiosarcoma.   Following her initial surgery, Daisy experienced a rapid regrowth of the squamous cell carcinoma, and she now has multiple lesions on her abdomen. After another consultation, our vets have advised against a second surgery due to the fragile condition of her tissue, which would make successful closure unlikely. Instead, we’re managing her condition with topical treatments to slow the growth and keep her comfortable for as long as possible, always prioritizing her quality of life.   To help protect her lesions, Daisy wears a soft wrap overnight and occasionally during the day if she starts licking. Despite her diagnosis, Daisy remains full of life and love—and we would absolutely love to find her a foster or, even better, a forever home.   Daisy is a true bird dog at heart. She adores going for walks, nose to the ground, taking in the world through scent. She does have a noticeable prey drive, so a home without cats or small animals is best. Daisy is incredibly affectionate and craves human attention—so much so that she occasionally needs a gentle reminder of her manners.   She would thrive with a confident, dog-savvy person who can provide structure and clear boundaries. Daisy could live happily with another dog her size or enjoy life as your one and only.   If you’re interested in fostering, we provide all supplies, medical care, and full support. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Daisy—whether as a foster or forever family—please submit an adoption application through our website   Adoption fee includes - spay/neuter, microchip & chip registration, UTD vaccines, fecal testing, de-worming, flea treatment. Daisy would do great in a home with...Cats : nopeDogs : Yep!  Kiddos : 10+    ##2251828##

Story
Pending! Six-year-old male, German Shorthair Pointer, needing an active home. Have had him since he was a pup, he is up to date on his shots. Owner works in healthcare and gone 11+ hours per day currently which is part of the reason for this. He DOES get along well with other dogs, with the exception of bully pits, is happiest when he is running. Will run alongside the car on country roads, will hike off leash, run with a bike on the bike path. He does not destroy items but will occasionally eat socks and grab food off the counter. This guy has a problem with whining/ anxiety and recently started Prozac which seems to be helping and likely would be mitigated with more exercise. He also barks in the car and people at the front door. He would do well in a home with other dogs, but probably not cats. No hunting experience. Breed is known for lasting energy and good personalities.

Story
Our Los Angeles based rescue partners, The Forgotten Dog Foundation, rescued Charlie, a one-and-a-half-year-old GSP who had been abandoned and was in terrible shape. He was severely emaciated and after major medical care and lots of good nutrition and love in his foster home, we are pleased to say that now, months later, Charlie is healthy and is ready for his forever home. He is great with all people and dogs, super loving and easy going. We are keen to put him into a GSP experienced home as that is what he needs! Charlie is currently in Southern California, but our rescue partners will be bringing dogs to us May 19th, so please inquire immediately if you are interested in adopting Charlie. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200. To meet this handsome boy, go to www.sevadog.org/application,

Story
Mouse is a female 7yr old German shorthair pointer Rottweiler mix. She came from a rescue situation in California to Redmond as a pup in a litter. She is sweet and snuggly with adults but is scared around small children. She has been around our cats for 7 yrs and is good with our cats but likes to chase them around the house. She does have issues visiting the vet and will need to be sedated.

Story
Heineken     •    Neutered     •    Up to date on Vaccines     •    8 yrs old/ Male     •    GSP Mix     •    Sunriver, Oregon With great sadness I need to find my buddy a new home. We recently had a baby and it isn’t working with him and the baby as he has shown aggression towards him. With that being said he is a really good dog. Low maintenance in the house, crate trained, never gets into anything, and loves to lay around when he’s received proper activity, and does great in the car.  He is very intelligent and loves to learn new things. Outside he loves to run, play with toys, and bake in the sun. He is used to running on leash 10+ miles a week, but is satisfied with walks and hikes. Ideally he has a fenced yard to wander in, but with proper activity would do fine without . He does well on his leash during walks, but has an incredible prey drive so he should never be left off leash. Does okay with a lot of dogs, specifically females, but can be aggressive so no dog parks and would ideally be the only dog at home and older kids only. He has been muzzled around the baby for the last few months and does well with it. He is trained in basic commands and very food motivated. The perfect family would be one with no kids or older in age 10+ and no dogs that lives an active lifestyle that he can join in on. He has spent time around pre teen and teen kids and loves them. He is okay being home by himself during the day while you’re at work. If you are local to Bend, I would be happy to help take care of him in certain situations. Can provide his crate, toys, beds, leash, and any left over food. Has active pet insurance until May 25. Happy to meet you anywhere. I just want my buddy to find a loving home.
