Story
Howdy, Partner! The name’s Tassels, and I’m ready to saddle up and ride off into the sunset with my forever family! I arrived at my OPH homestead in late January with a pack of adorable pups. They’ve all trotted off to their forever homes, and now it’s my turn to find a cozy place to hang my hat. Here’s the lowdown on me: 🌞 From sunup to sundown, I’ll be by your side. I thrive in a home where my human is around most of the day—I love company! 🚫 Crates? It depends. If you're not home, I’d rather not be crated—I’m more of a free-range gal. But if you’re home, the crate becomes my happy place! I’ll snooze, relax, and hang out in there just fine. 🐔 Chickens beware! I’ve got a bit too much interest in our feathery friends, so a chicken-free home is a must. 🌿 Farm life suits me! I enjoy roaming the land and tagging along with foster mom in the greenhouse. I like to be outside so I need a yard. I need another dog in my adoptive home 🏥 Spay scheduled for November 2025 (due to recent heartworm treatment). No worries—OPH will handle everything. I just need a ride to the appointment. If you're searching for a loyal sidekick, a gentle companion (just not for poultry), and a sweet pup full of heart and spunk, then let’s ride! Apply now—a gal like me won’t be around long! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Story
🐾 Meet Abe – A Loyal German Wirehaired Pointer Looking for a New Home 📍 Age: 5 | Sex: Male (Neutered) | Health: Excellent. Abe is an affectionate 5-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer that's loyal & loving, he thrives on companionship and makes a wonderful family protector. We’re looking to rehome him—not due to any fault of his own—but because our small yard and busy schedule can’t give him the outdoor time and attention he needs. Abe is great with other dogs and loves water and dog parks. He’s friendly, cuddly, loving, active, and enjoys being around people—he’ll follow you everywhere. While he’s good with kids, we feel he’d do best in an adult home with room to run. A home with land or a farm near Manassas, VA (20112) would be ideal. A few quirks to know: Food protective, trainable and highly food-motivated. Nighttime loner – prefers space at night. Seeking caring, loving, spacious home.
