If you answered yes to both of these questions, Chee Yoo could be the perfect dog for you. Chee Yoo is a beautiful, 5 yo medium/large female dog that came to Jelly's Place from South Korea in July 2021. Why has such a wonderful dog not been adopted yet? Read further to find out. Chee Yoo is very timid and nervous around people. She LOVES other dogs, and has become best friends with another Jelly's dog named Pepe. Pepe has a very similar personality to Chee Yoo and the two of them are like 2 peas in a pod. Chee Yoo can guard her food which is not surprising given where she came from. So, care needs to be taken with another dog when food, especially high value foods, are around. During her time at Jelly's Place, Chee Yoo has gone from hiding in the corner to taking daily walks on a leash. She is becoming more comfortable and confident, but still has a long way to go. She has learned to trust her primary caregiver, but is still not comfortable interacting with other people. Chee Yoo would do best in a calm, quiet home with dog experience and older or no children. Chee Yoo is NOT a dog for first time adopters. She needs adopters who are willing to be patient and to give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable, confident and loved. Another dog in the home is essential. and we prefer to keep Chee Yoo with her buddy Pepe. If you are interested in adopting Chee Yoo, we recommend that you come and spend time with her on several occasions so that she becomes comfortable with you. She’s smart and food-motivated, already knows sit, shake, and come, and is learning place and down. Ginger is comfortable in a crate, sleeps soundly through the night, and often chooses her crate as a comfy hangout spot. With her active energy, she thrives on walks and adventures, but also has a softer, cuddly side once she’s settled. Ginger would do best in an active home with someone who can keep her busy, continue her training, and give her plenty of enrichment. She can be excitable and pulls on leash when overstimulated, so a patient owner committed to helping her practice good manners will set her up for success. She can be (situational) reactive to cats (especially from the crate) and may have some prey drive, so a cat-free home is ideal. Sammy is an amazing and resilient 3-year-old Golden Retriever. He is a very loving Golden to those who know and love him. Sammy is currently enrolled in an extended board-and-train program designed to help de-escalate reactivity with dogs, address home barriers, and manage interactions with strangers. He has really done well after 6 months, building confidence and reducing his reactivity to men and dogs. Sammy now has a pack of five doggie friends he plays with regularly. We have weaned him off the Reconcile, and his Golden personality is really beginning to shine through. Sammy's extensive training is really showing what Sammy's potential can be when loved and cared for daily. He will need an experienced owner who can provide consistent reinforcement and meet his needs. If you are interested, we can coordinate a call with his trainer to learn more. Sammy is being fostered in San Jose.
