Story
Buster is a gorgeous Golden Retriever mix who is a young adult (about 2 years old). He lives with dogs of all sizes and gets along with everyone but he is dominant over food so I feed him separately. He also lives with cats and kittens and has never tried to chase them and doesn't really pay attention to them. He is low-to-medium energy in general but has the stamina to go on long hikes, etc. He is not a barker and not a jumper and not a bolter. He likes to be petted. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.June Carter has been with us since she was rescued as a tiny 5-week-old pup from the Wind River Reservation. She has grown into a gentle, cautious soul who bonds deeply with women and thrives when she feels safe and understood. June doesn’t trust men and will not do well in a household with them, but with the right woman she becomes affectionate, playful, and loyal. She adores snowy adventures, quiet outdoor play, and the company of other dogs and cats. Because she is shy and takes time to warm up, we’re looking for a local foster-to-adopt home where she can adjust at her own pace. June lives with hip dysplasia, which is managed with daily supplements, and she will need a securely fenced yard for her active spirit. She is crate-trained, eager to learn, and does best in calm, structured environments. June’s perfect match is a single female adopter who will give her patience, consistency, and the chance to blossom into the loving companion she truly is.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.    **Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com** September 22, 2025, 6:22 pm
