Georgia is a beautiful Golden Retriever with a gentle soul. She can be a little shy at first, but once she has time to get to know you and build a bond, she begins to relax and show her true self. As trust grows, Georgia learns that she is safe, and her sweet, loving nature starts to shine through. She walks on leash and is doing well, though she’s still learning about the world around her and gaining confidence in new situations. Georgia may benefit from having another confident dog in the home to help guide her and make her adjustment to home life easier. Georgia is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to move at her pace and support her as she continues to grow. With kindness, consistency, and time, she has the potential to become a wonderfully loyal companion. A meet and greet is required to ensure Georgia and her potential new family are a good fit. If you’re ready to offer a calm, loving home and help Georgia blossom, she may be the perfect dog for you. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
