Story
We got Leeli as a puppy. She is a gorgeous girl who loves people, eating, and running around. She is excellent with children, she has coexisted with our cat but will try to play with her (our cat is not amused). A cat with a friendly personality will probably do fine. She has gotten along great with our male golden. She does like to assert dominance with other dogs so she's gotten in a few spats along those lines but dogs usually get that worked out and then they're fine. She has a lot of energy. She really needs a home with a large yard or to go on regular walks. She would love a home with children. She has been raised with our 8 children. We are rehoming her because we are moving to a smaller house and we really only have space for one golden. We like to travel and it's much easier with only one golden. She also loves playing tug and catch. Her birthday is 3/26/21

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forest is a wonderful work in progress. He is a mixed breed guy who has been with us since Dec., 2021. We didn't put him up for adoption right away as he was very shy and shutdown. Some of our wonderful volunteers have been working with him, taking baby steps, and we think he's ready to transition into a forever home. However it will have to be a very special, secure, and patient home. Forest has been fully vetted and his fee of $125 is sponsored. Forest originally came to rescue from a Reservation in South Dakota. He was on the run for quite a while before he was live trapped. He's a mature adult who could now be close to 7 years old. He is still extremely shy but responds well to treats and kind words. He's learning to go for walks and enjoys it. We think he would be okay with a well mannered, somewhat confident dog. Due to his shy nature, he's looking for an experienced ADULT only home (teens are fine). We have no way of knowing about cats. SECURELY FENCED YARD REQUIRED. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
Tootsie is a beautiful middle aged gal. She was found as a stray in a neighboring community. She is estimated to be between 5-7 years old and if she could talk she`d say she is in the prime of her life! Her breed(s) are unknown but she appears to have some bird dogs in her lineage. She`s a perfect 51 lbs. and has a wash & wear coat!Tootsie is pretty firm in her beliefs. She absolutely loves chasing the ball and running with her foster dad. She absolutely wishes cats did not exist. Tootsie absolutely believes humans are better than any other reward on the planet. Tootsie, also, absolutely does not want to share her home with any other canines.Tootsie can be made to appear as if she a handful, a problem, questionable. When she first came to us we were concerned about all of these things. But we know one thing. Tootsie craves praise and adoration from her people, and she has proven that day after day. She wants this. It is an incredible thing to witness a dog shed the old persona and try a new one on, especially a reactive dog. She`s not always going to get it right, so she needs people that will continue to have her back and not try to make her something she is not. Tootsie needs to be the only pet in the home. She has made huge improvements and is now comfortable walking past and casually being around other dogs in passing. Beyond that she is an easy keeper. Want to go for a long hike? She`s your gal! Feeling like a couch day? She`s got the snacks. Tootsie is going to love her new humans with every fiber of her being. Who doesn`t want that kind of adoration?Tootsie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She has also tested negative for heartworm disease. Her adoption fee is $300.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application to find out more about our Tootsie!
