Meet Jonah! He is a 35lbs Golden Retriever - Corgi mix with the cutest short legs. The first thing you will notice about Jonah is what a good boy he is. He is housebroken. He understands commands. He loves going outside and going for walks. He is a fast walker but will slow down to say hi to every person and dog he sees. He would do best in a home with a safe place to run around outside and roam freely inside. He is very affectionate, and loves to give hugs and cuddles on the couch. He is quiet but will greet you when you come home with barks. He easily calms down with help from his toy moose. He responds great to praise, and loves being told he is a good dog. His story before becoming a foster dog is unknown, but he has shown himself to be an amazing dog full of love. Jonah is estimated to be 3 years old and 34 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. Aleu was brought in as a stray and never claimed. Aleu is a beautiful mix of white shepherd, husky and golden retriever (that is our best guess anyway) and she is a sweet girl, she walks calmly on a leash and absolutely can't be around cats. Aleu was born in December 2018 and keeps a very clean kennel here at the shelter. She needs to lose a little bit of weight and we are working on that now. Aleu would love to find a new home with a new best friend that she can love for the rest of her life. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. She benefits a lot from regular exercise. She likes other dogs and wants to make friends, but she could polish her canine social skills. She's very food-motivated and loves toys and chew bones. Hello! I am Didi and I am a fun loving sweet sweet girl! I just came up from Alabama and I’m trying to figure out what this dreadfully cold weather is all about. I’m not a total fan of it but my humans still make me go outside to do my business. I did have one accident the very first night but who can blame me?!My human family thinks that I’ve never been in a home before. I’m very curious and like to check everything out. I’ve only gone up the big stairs halfway but I know I’ll be fine soon enough. My family loves going on walks but they said we are going to wait just a few more days for it to warm up. So I’m not sure how I will be but I bet pretty good!I love playing with the other foster doggy in my new home. We are very playful together! My mom puts me in a kennel when she leaves for work just to make sure I get this potty training business down pat!My mom can tell I’m a really good happy dog! Please give me a chance. Molly and her siblings were born and have been living in a basement. Molly is sweet and friendly after a little time to warm up and see new things. She is really learning a lot in her foster home! She can now do stairs even! Molly is good meeting other dogs and is very interesting in playing. She lives with other dogs, a house pig, and a variety of other animal friends. She lives with middle school age kids. Molly is not yet fully house or crate trained. Her new family will need to continue working with her. She would do great in a basic training class to help bond with a new family too.
