Welcome Zeus to the ranch !!! Available for adoption now     Zeus is a handsome Golden retriever Golden lab mix 2 years old  Fully vetted, neutered and microchipped  Loves other dogs  In foster with master certified trainer  House, crate and leash trained  Ready to go home !!! Statesville, NC    From his foster :    Meet Zeus — the quirky king of second chances!   Zeus spent his first year growing up in a shelter, and he’s still learning what life outside those walls is all about. He’s got some quirks but that’s what makes him so special. Beneath his goofy exterior is a happy, playful, fun-loving dog who’s eager to connect and thrive.   Zeus has been working hard on his obedience and already shows off some flashy skills. What he needs now is a patient, understanding home that can give him the structure and consistency to keep succeeding.   He’d do best with a young or older couple—no kids, please—but he’s fine with other dogs. Zeus has waited long enough for his chance at a real home. ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED If you’ve got room in your heart come meet Zeus in  Statesville, North Carolina. ##2552154##

Story
Loudon is an 8-year-old male purebred show Golden Retriever with a medium energy level and a big personality. He enjoys leisurely walks, cozy couch time, and playing fetch with his impressive toy collection—especially his favorites: squirrel, lamby, and sloth (yes, he knows them by name!). He also takes his role as “yard supervisor” seriously and has a natural talent for digging and keeping an eye on the local squirrel population. When Loudon first came into rescue, he had several medical needs, including being significantly overweight, joint discomfort, a chronic ear infection, and allergies. With the support of his foster family and NRGRR, he has made wonderful progress—losing over 20 pounds and continuing toward a healthy goal weight. He is also doing much better with the help of medications to manage his joint health, ear condition, and anxiety. Loudon is a loving and engaging companion who forms strong bonds with his people. He enjoys affection, but like many dogs, he appreciates having his boundaries respected. He prefers to initiate contact and will let you know he’s ready for attention by nudging or gently pawing you, or by sweetly tucking his nose between your legs. Being mindful of his comfort, especially around more sensitive areas like his lower back, feet, and belly, helps him feel safe and secure. Loudon can be protective of high-value treats and the people he is closest to, particularly his primary caregiver. He communicates this through body language such as positioning himself nearby, growling, or giving clear signals that he needs space. With an understanding owner who can read and respect these cues, Loudon thrives and feels more at ease. While Loudon previously lived with another dog, he is currently most comfortable as the only pet in the home. He would do best in a calm, adult-only household where he can relax without the stress of sharing his space with other animals or young children. Loudon’s ideal home is one that offers a balance of gentle activity and quiet downtime, along with access to a yard or outdoor space where he can explore and enjoy himself. Most importantly, he needs a patient and committed adopter who understands his needs and is willing to continue supporting his progress. In return, Loudon offers loyalty, companionship, and a wonderful sense of humor. He is a special dog who, with the right person or family, will continue to blossom and share the love he has to give.

Story
He might be a dog, but Barkson is looking to bring his handsome, his energy and his fun and playful bark to a family where he can take up the role of a fur-son! Hence, his perfect fitting name. Barkson is a retriever mix who has a stunning golden coat. He weighs about 29 lbs now but he has room to grow! This young man is all energy all the time and is both super active as well as super curious and yet still a little shy and unsure of lots of things he has never yet seen. Barkson does wonderfully with other dogs and would love a playmate for sure! He is smart and loves good so would be a great training candidate to learn everything you want him to know about living in a home and being the invaluable family member he cannot help but become. This ball of energy wrapped in a golden coloring cannot wait to meet you!

Story
Bertha was such a great house guest.  I'm sure life hasn't been easy for her, but she doesn't let that stop her from trusting and loving people.  She has great house manners, no accidents and she had no interest in stealing slippers or destroying anything.   She did great with all the new foster dogs that came in during her stay.  In the house she will follow you around and the minute you stop to take a break she is nudging you for some pets and love.  Outside, she just loves to sniff and wander in the yard.  When she finds a nice cool spot, she will roll around and then settle in and watch the world go by.  Every now and then she gets a burst of energy when she spots a squirrel in the yard.  She is great out of the crate at nights and loves to curl up on any and all comfy dog beds.  She never tried to get up on the couch or bed.  She wouldn't get in the car, so I had to lift her.  She seems to be okay in the car, I think it's just getting up into it.   She is starting to get hard of hearing, but that happens to all of us in our senior years.  She likes to go on walks, but she likes to mosey and smell the flowers. If ever there was a lady who deserved to be someone's baby, it IS Bertha! She is simply lovely. A nice medium energy level, she wanders around the grounds, shares space easily with all of the other dogs, visits with people and is just enjoys the fresh air and scenery. She would settle well into most any home, enjoy anywhere from 1 to 10 plus people and not demand a whole lot. She is very social, very comfortable in her own skin and VERY ready to be spoiled from here on out! From leisurely strolls to trips to the brewery, she is ready for the bougie lifestyle of a family member ASAP! *Sleepover feedback: " Did great at night, slept soundly in her crate and outside of it curled up on the dog bed. She really will follow you all over the house, just wants to be with you; so gotta keep that bathroom door closed or she'll plop down next to you saying, "where are my pets???". But really she did super well. She really shows she's ready to be loved constantly and deeply, because that's what you will get in return, a tail-wagging, smiling, loving good girl".
