Story
Benj is some kind of couch-pretzel, people-loving, golden good boy with a side of zoomies and heart. You could sum him up with just saying- look at his face!!! That lab-like sunshine face says it all. This boy lights up for people and only aspires to be a lap dog (please don’t tell him he is considered “too big.”) Want to see Benji in action? Here you go- https://youtu.be/qaXHwytI6fU Benji is currently fostered in loving home where he lives peacefully with multiple dogs (big and small) and cats. His fosters describe him as smart, loving, and attention-seeking in the sweetest way. He’ll play chase outside with the dogs, then take breaks on his own. We love a dog that knows the joy of a well-timed break. Out and about, Benji is friendly and social. He walked right up to say hello when I met him and it was an instant connection. Of course, I later learned thats just how it feels with Benji, that connection is part of his charm. Benji also has great leash manners and is an easy walking companion which is a great quality for a dog that is so people-friendly. we greeted his fosters, and he was easy to walk on leash during his assessment. Benji’s personality has two modes, and they’re both adorable: * Outside: happy boy, a bit more focused, occasionally a little unsure in busy, new situations. Overall solid good boy still learning and growing. *Inside: this is when the lover-boy shows up. He comes over to check in, flops into you, and tries to twist himself into your lap like a happy little pretzel. This is also the time for snackies! Snuggles and treats are a top-teir combo to Benji. With new dogs, Benji can be a little insecure at first and appreciates taking it slow at first. That initial shyness is built around a sweetness. He doesn’t rush into the fast playmates role with new dogs but warms to it but we know he is a great companion and playmate thanks to the front-row seat his fosters have. In the foster home, he is doing great with the resident dogs and has a fun chase-play style. Cats are possible for Benji in the right setup. He lives with cats now and may occasionally chase a cat that moves quickly, but he’s not looking to do anything once he catches up. In his cat test, he was polite with our mellow but confident house cat, it was a very polite sniff and walk away. We’d love for Benji to have another dog in the home if cats are part of the picture, rather than a cats-only household. If he has a canine-companion for rounds of chase the cats are much less tempting. Benji would be a wonderful fit for an active person who enjoys walks and hikes as a way to get some exercise and fresh air but is a homebody type otherwise. He is well suited for either house with a yard or apartment life. The only requirement is you must love cuddling at home and not have size limitations on lap-dog privileges. This boy is people-friendly, goofy indoors, and ready to be someone’s loyal and adorable sidekick. Benji is the epitome of the kind of dog who makes a house feel lived-in in the best way… like home. Story
Meet Izzy – A Heart of Gold in Every Way Izzy is a breathtaking 2-year-old red Golden Retriever with a soft, silky coat, kind soulful eyes, and the gentle spirit the breed is so beloved for. She weighs around 55 lbs and is the definition of sweetness—trusting, loving, and eager to be near her people. Izzu is currently located in Houston, TX, but is available for adoption directly from transport in the Greater Seattle area. To learn more about Izzy, apply to adopt at the link below: https://www.doggedly.org/adoption-app Despite a tragic past, Izzy’s resilience is nothing short of remarkable. As a puppy, Izzy was given as a Christmas gift to two young children by a man who would later become violent. This man used Izzy as a tool of fear and control, threatening to hurt her in front of the children to silence them, and even assaulting their mother when she tried to protect her sweet pup. Thankfully, the mother bravely escaped and got her family to safety, with their abuser behind bars. Out of deep love for Izzy, she made the heartbreaking decision to rehome her so Izzy could have a chance at the peaceful, loving life she deserves. Izzy is now ready for the next chapter of her new life. Izzy has been in foster care in Houston, Texas for several months and is quite a remarkable pup. She is gentle, sweet, kind and has learned to trust and love humans. In her foster home, Izzy has flourished into the gentle, affectionate girl she was always meant to be. She is fully potty trained, house trained, and has excellent indoor manners. Izzy is fantastic with dogs, respectful with cats, and very sweet with children. She shows no lingering signs of trauma—only gratitude, loyalty, and a big heart full of love. , Izzy can be guarded around unfamiliar males at first, but is won over easily with a soft approach, treats and praise. This girl is all love, and is looking for the perfect family to spoil her and love her for the rest of her days. In return, Izzy will return all the love and companionship to your family as a loyal family member. Izzy is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, and current on flea and heartworm prevention. She’s in excellent health and ready for a fresh start. Whether you’re a family, a couple, or a solo adopter, Izzy will be the perfect calm, loving companion to share your life with. **Adoption Requirements:** All potential adopters must complete a pre-adoption interview, submit a veterinary reference, provide personal references, and submit home check photos prior to approval. We encourage early applications to get pre-approved and be matched with the right dog when the time comes.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Lady! She is a friendly, 8-year-old, 79 lb Golden Retriever/Lab mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA in hopes of finding her forever home here in WA! Lady is a very sweet dog that walks well on leash and loves to go on adventures. Overall, she walks well on a leash, but she is a strong girl and will pull on the leash should she see something she’d like to check out. She already knows basic commands such as "sit" and "shake" and takes treats gently. Lady is very smart and a quick learner, which will make training a breeze! She would love a home with a yard where she can explore and lounge! Due to her size and strength, we are recommending kids over 10 years old. She can be dog selective, so her ideal home would be a one dog household where she can soak up all the love and attention from her people. Overall, Lady is an awesome dog with so many great qualities and would love to spend the rest of her days in a loving forever home rather than a commercial kennel. She will make a great adventure companion and wonderful addition to any lucky household. Lady is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $400.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Binks! He is a 1 1/2-year-old, 50lb Golden Retriever/Pit Bull mix, who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. He is one big butterball of love! He is very sweet but is strong and can be bouncy and mouthy so he will need an adopter who is committed to working on his overall basic obedience skills with him. He is very smart, and food motivated and does well with training. He is generally well behaved, loves meeting new people and does well in a crate. He does well with other dogs, but mostly enjoys attention from his people. He loves to crawl and roll around in the grass and would love a home with a securely fenced yard where he can run, play and crawl. We are recommending no young children due to his bouncy nature right now. He is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.
