Story
Lilly is immediately warm with the people she meets and really lives for connection and comfort. She loves being petted and hugged, carrying a stuffed toy in her mouth, and finding a soft spot near her favorite humans. Low energy and easygoing, she loves sleeping in, and is just as happy snuggling as she is on a short neighborhood walk or spending time outside on the porch. Lilly is kennel trained, great in the car and the bathtub, and tolerant of handling like nail trims. She knows several common commands including sit and lay down, and walks well on leash. She requires a chicken-free diet. She is good with kids and other dogs. However, she would not do well in a home with a bird. Lilly recently had surgery to address chronic ear problems and is healing well so far. She has been through a lot, but you would never know it from how sweet she is. If you are looking for a loving, low-key companion who just wants to be close to you, Lilly might be your girl.

Story
Hi, Im Rain—and yes, I am here to brighten your day! I had a bit of a rough start out on the streets (zero stars, do not recommend), but I am now a happy, healthy guy ready to enjoy the good life. These days, I am all about playtime, people, and making new dog friends wherever I go. If there is space to run, something to chase, or a human to hang out with, I am already having the best day ever. I bring the energy, the fun, and just the right amount of chaos to keep life interesting in a good way. I am currently in the Middle East with my freedom flight ready—I just need someone to say “he is coming home.” So tell me… are you ready to turn a little Rain into a whole lot of sunshine in your life? 🐾

Story
Meet McCoy – the sweetest little sidekick you didn’t know you were missing. At just 4.5 months old and 24 pounds, McCoy is a delightful mix of silly, snuggly, and smart. He may be a tiny bit shy at first, but give him a little patience and you’ll quickly discover his playful personality and affectionate heart. McCoy comes from a pretty interesting family tree! His mom is a Heeler/Beagle mix and his dad is a cream-colored Goldendoodle, which resulted in one very unique and adorable pup. He has the coloring of his siblings but favors his Beagle-mix mama in looks — with short little legs, a loooong Basset-style body, and a thick, medium-length coat that’s perfect for cuddling. Though he was born outside and spent his early weeks living outdoors with his parents and littermates, McCoy is now thriving inside a loving foster home. He’s learning all about family life — from the excitement of greeting you at the door (he gives the best welcome-home kisses!) to living with young boys ages 6 and 10. Every day he grows braver and more confident. At first, the big dogs in his foster home made him a little nervous — but now? He’s happily part of the crew. He absolutely loves to run and play outside, and fetch with tennis balls is quickly becoming one of his favorite games. And yes… he is SMART. You can just see those wheels turning. One of the most special things about McCoy is how deeply he bonds with his people. When his foster mom recently had a terrible migraine, McCoy instinctively curled up beside her and stayed close, offering quiet comfort. He’s not just cute — he truly cares. His activity level is beautifully balanced. He enjoys playtime and adventures, but he’s just as happy snuggled up right next to you. With a loving, supportive family, McCoy is going to absolutely bloom into the best kind of companion — loyal, joyful, and full of heart. He is expected to grow to around 45–50 pounds when fully grown. If you’re looking for a special boy who is adorable inside and out, McCoy may be your perfect match. To learn more about McCoy, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. We transport from our rescue base in Nashville up the northeastern corridor of states to approved adopters. McCoy is ready to find his forever family — maybe it’s you. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 7, 2026, 3:11 pm

Current Location: Glen Allen, VA Introducing Bailey! This beautiful 2-year-old girl is getting rave reviews from her foster dad, who says she is absolutely wonderful! They have gone on many fun walks, and Bailey loves playing in the backyard, riding in the truck, and going to PetSmart. At the foster home, Bailey... --Does very well on leash --Is timid at first but warms up quickly and becomes friendly with everyone she meets --Is sweet, docile and friendly with a neighbors' dog --Is very gentle and patient with a neighbor's young boy, age 2 --Calmly watches over (supervises!) her foster dad while he does yard work --Goes into her crate on her own --Is house trained (no bathroom accidents) --Will sit on command --Seems to be a smart cookie! Above everything else, Bailey has a heart of gold, which contributes to her loving and nurturing demeanor, her foster dad said. Bailey was adopted in April but was returned through no fault of her own and is now back with the same foster dad. She is looking for her forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started!
