Meet Snickers! 🍫 Snickers is one of Fern’s adorable puppies — born on August 5, 2025, and currently weighing around 15 lbs. We’re not sure of his exact breed mix, but our best guess is Retriever/Hound mix. Fern is Snickers mom and she weighs in at 27 lbs. Whatever his mix, Snickers is a sweet, playful pup who loves attention and cuddles! Snickers is good with other dogs and young enough to learn about cats. Snickers loves to play with his doggie toys and running around the backyard. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion to grow up with, Snickers might be the perfect fit for your family! 💕 Because Snickers is still a baby, he’ll need an adopter who is home a good portion of the day to continue his training and socialization — no exceptions. This puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be spayed at the age of 6 months. Lincoln is a sweet boy that seems eager to please. He is very strong and is still learning to not pull on the leash. He loves his walks and gets very excited once he sees his collar and leash. He is limited to easy, short walks as he is heartworm positive. Shortly after Lincoln arrived to his foster home, he seemed lethargic and wasn’t eating much. He did go to the ER to rule out anything serious. He spent the night and perked up a bit after IV fluids. He was still not eating well and would vomit almost daily so he saw our local vet. He had additional x-rays and bloodwork and was still a bit of a mystery. He was on a bland diet of only boiled turkey, eating frequent small meals throughout the day as anything else, or larger quantities caused him to vomit. The vet decided to do an endoscopy 12/23 to see if that would provide answers. It did! The scope showed large amounts of Helicobacter (H.pylori) throughout his stomach and biopsies were also done. He is currently on his third week of treatment with Pepcid AC and 2 antibiotics to help treat that. So far, so good! He is finally eating normal sized portions of turkey. The vet feels it may stem from allergies as there are certain proteins he will not even touch (salmon, whitefish) and others that have caused him to vomit (lamb, beef). Currently his foster prepares his meals fresh with ground turkey as we attempt to heal his gut and continue in the right direction. Lincoln is looking for a special home that will continue to help him thrive. He most likely will require to continue eating in this manner (a gently cooked or raw diet) as it is working. He also has a strong prey drive and is still double leashed on walks and in the foster’s yard. He fixates on the squirrels, deer, foxes, and wild turkeys. He does not bark and moves quickly and stealthily when he notices them. He is a great dog and very affectionate. He does not know the concept of personal space. He still needs additional training which the foster can start working on, now that he is finally feeling better. It will help determine what will be the best environment and lifestyle for Lincoln.

Meet Henrietta! This sweet, doodle girl was spotted running as a stray with her siblings in Chester, SC, in June 2025. They were just puppies at the time, and we believe they had been abandoned there. With patience and time, their finders earned their trust, and once they did, the pups followed them home and into the yard for safety. For the next six months, Henrietta lived primarily outdoors in the finders’ backyard, coming inside during inclement weather. The family found a home for one of her siblings and reached out to rescue to ensure Henrietta and her brother, Steve, would also find safe, loving homes. While they are good buddies, Henrietta and Steve are now in separate foster homes, learning about home life and building their confidence. Henrietta has been in her foster home for nearly two weeks and is starting to trust and come out of her shell. At first, she was shy and shut down; home life, everyday noises, collars, and leash walks were all completely new to her. The backyard she lived in for those six months was the only home she had ever known. She is fortunate to be fostered by seasoned fosters Laine and Gary, along with their pack of three dogs, who have helped many fosters successfully transition to home life. Henrietta is very submissive and quickly found her place in the pack, learning by watching and following the older dogs. Because of this, we believe she would do best in a home with another social. established dog who can be a role model. In return, she will make an excellent pack member. While she’s still a bit shy around sudden loud noises and quick movements, Henrietta has started to engage with Laine and Gary and is not fearful of people. She is a very sweet soul with a gentle nature and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She has a medium energy level, with the occasional zoomies, but overall is quite moderate for a young pup. She crates well and has already shown good house manners. Laine has begun introducing leash walks in the backyard and will soon start venturing out to give her more exposure. We’ve learned that Henrietta loves soft, comfy beds and toys and feels most confident when she’s part of a pack. This sweet girl continues to blossom each day and is going to make a wonderful family dog and loyal companion. Coming to the DC metro area in February. Apply today!
