Story
This is our beautiful Sophie. She is a 3.5 year old apricot Goldendoodle. She is an Amish rescue and needs lots of love and training. Due to health reasons, we are moving to Chicago and can’t take her with us. Sophie is so smart and loving. Everyday she is making great strides to come out of her shell. She will do well with a family that has other dogs and a large fenced in yard. Sophie is leash trained and loves nothing better than to walk with you. However, she is verbal command and still does not eat treats out of your hand.

Leo adores human attention, eagerly seeking out affection and delightfully attempting to snatch treats from unsuspecting visitors' bags, showcasing his mischievous charm. His fondness for treats hints at a promising future in training. Leo's spa days are a testament to his sweet nature, as he patiently stands for grooming, exuding grace and gentleness. Leo gets along well with female dogs and would be open to sharing a home with a canine companion, but he does not require one.A stellar leash walker, Leo eagerly embraces outdoor adventures, relishing every opportunity for a stroll. With his radiant personality and endearing charm, Leo promises to infuse any adoptive family with boundless joy and laughter. As he awaits his forever home at National Mill Dog Rescue, Leo eagerly anticipates the chance to shower his new family with love and happiness.- - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
