MEET SNICKERS — A SWEET BOY GETTING HIS SECOND CHANCE Some stories are hard to tell. Snickers is just 4 years old, and when he came to safety, he was only 47 pounds, painfully underweight with every bone easily felt. He had been kept in a chicken coop, and thankfully, someone finally saw him and decided he deserved better. A Good Samaritan came across his Facebook Marketplace listing while she was actually looking for landscaping services. She immediately worried about where he could end up and simply couldn't leave him there. So she went and got him. She already runs a reptile rescue, but unfortunately couldn't keep Snickers because her own dog isn't dog-friendly. She knew, though, that this sweet boy needed a chance. His foster gave him the name Snickers — a fresh name for a fresh start. And what a sweet boy he is. Snickers is incredibly gentle, house-trained, knows some basic commands, and has been fantastic with other dogs. He's met a Pug, a full-grown Golden Retriever, and a Mini Aussie, and has done beautifully with all three. Two of those dogs are more sensitive and cautious with new dogs, and Snickers has been respectful, calm, and absolutely wonderful with them. He has also shown no issues with cats so far. As always, slow and proper introductions will be important as he settles into his new life. Snickers is a Goldendoodle, and more than anything, he is just a loving boy who wants to feel safe and be part of a family. After everything he's been through, he deserves the simple things so many dogs take for granted — a soft bed, a full food bowl, a safe home, and someone who will love him for the rest of his life. Snickers is ready for his fresh start. Let's find this sweet boy the forever home he's been waiting for.   ##2812507##

Story
Carolina is a 2 yr old Goldendoodle, who loves all people! She runs straight up to people to give them love (small children included). She still thinks she’s a lap dog even though she’s WAY too big, but it’s so sweet! She would prefer to be the only dog in the home, to receive all the cuddles. She is crate trained and house trained and uses the dog door.

Story
Julia is a 4-year-old Goldendoodle weighing 37 pounds. She is a sweet girl who can be a little nervous around people at first, but she is beginning to gain trust and become more comfortable. She is looking for a patient, loving home where she can continue to build confidence and blossom. Julia does well with other dogs and prefers canine companions who give her space, though she can also tolerate more playful pups. Julia requires another dog in the home to help provide companionship and confidence as she adjusts. Julia walks on leash but is still working on feeling comfortable in new areas and unfamiliar surroundings. She also requires a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, play, and enjoy time outdoors. A required in-person meet and greet at our shelter is part of the adoption process to help ensure a good fit for Julia and her potential adopters. Julia is ready for the opportunity to find a patient and understanding family who will give her the time and support she needs to settle in. We can't wait to see her confidence grow and her personality continue to shine! ------ Many NMDR dogs have had limited prior socialization and may need time, patience, and support as they adjust to home life. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog. Homes with older children are often a good fit, depending on temperament. To learn more about NMDR and our adoption process, please visit our website.

Story
Gunni is a very well trained boy. He is not our dog. He responds well to the e-collar and can be off leash for walks and hikes. He is a happy guy, and would flourish in a home where he is the only dog. He is loyal to his people and can play with other dogs who are submissive, as long as there is no a high value item nearby. Honestly, he is a great dog. We are currently homing him for his owners who have just had a baby. The behavioral issue is that he attacked the other older dog in the home twice and damaged the other dog’s ears. The older dog was the dominant dog, but is aging and that seems to be an issue. The family cannot have Gunni in their home with the new baby given his behavioral issue. If you are looking for a really sweet, well trained adult dog who loves to play fetch, go on long hikes, and also sit at your feet for scratches this is your guy. The only rub, he needs to be an only pet. He resource guards, and he is dominant. He is a gem in so many ways. Please consider him

Story
PJ has so much love to give. He is a sweet cuddlebug and loves playing fetch, taking naps in the sun, and snacks. He is also a very fearful, anxious guy. He stresses every second I am not home and this arrangement is not good for him or me. This behavior manifests as constant barking and marking inside the house. He is too nervous of strange dogs and people for doggy daycare or dog parks. He needs a home with folks who know more about reactivity in dogs and can dedicate time to working with him. He has Nodular Granulomatous Episcleritis, which just means he will need ongoing checkups with an ophthalmologist but it is well managed with daily eye drops. He is 4 years old and 70 lbs, he has a tighter curly coat and does not shed but that does mean he needs regular grooming. He has lived with cats his whole life, he also gets along well with other dogs in the home. I do not know how he is with kids. He is a velcro dog, where you go, so does he. He knows basic obedience.

Story
Benson (5 in July) is from a golden doodle breeder in Fort Collins, CO. We got him when he was 8 weeks old. All owners after bringing our puppies home quickly recognized that this litter was full of anxiety. We have spent a lot of money on training, which did help. He loves to chew on his bones and does release anxiety that way. He will chew through even the toughest of toys very quickly. We are looking to downsize our home and Benson needs a yard to run in where he can chase squirrels and play fetch.
