Story
Gus is a 60lb, 9 month old male Goldendoodle mix, who was abandoned by his owners in an outdoor pen. Our GRRAND volunteer who met Gus says: Meet my new, quiet friend Gus, and what a sweet boy! He and I just enjoyed sitting in the shade and talking. Gus loves to be petted. He got a super duper groom a few weeks ago and is so handsome with brown, blond, and gray highlights in his coat." He is brand new to GRRAND and we are still evaluating him, so please check back later for more info. If you would like to meet Gus, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##2355924##

Story
This Floofydoodle girl is Ivy... Ivy is a 3 year old, 65ish lb, Goldendoodle and was one of the breeder dogs that was rescued from horrid conditions from the Amish puppy mill rescue in early Dec. of 2023!  MAJOR UPDATES FOR IVY - THIS SWEET GIRL IS OUT OF GCS AND IN A FOSTER HOME as of Feb 2025, HOWEVER, it was a temporary foster home and she is back at the kennel now looking for hopefully, her FOREVER family! She's great with other dogs. She will come up to you to be petted and for treats. She is still shy and needs a calm, patient home with an above ground securely fenced yard, and another stable dog. Here is what her foster mom had to say while she had Ivy... "Ivy is settling in really well. She finally learned how to go up and down the stairs (she initially didn’t know how). Still no potty accidents inside. So I would say she is house trained!  We are working hard on crate training and she is slowly but surely learning the crate up command and learning the crate can be a safe place. She is also letting us walk her in the house on a slip lead which is a big step for her as she’s not leash trained. Long term, she will be so happy in a home with another stable, young and playful dog. (ours are 6 and 7 and not as active with her) She is so playful and loves to run. She loves to chase after balls, but doesn’t understand fetch yet and she will run laps around our backyard until she tires out, ha! That said, she is generally pretty calm in the house." **** As Ivy is working on getting socialized, she still has fears and the type of home she is needing is not just your typical home. There are quite a few MUST HAVES for her and they are:  MUST have someone who is experienced in helping unsocialized breeder dogs transition from the kennel situation to a home. This is NOT just for anyone, as the time and patience put into helping to rehabilitate these dogs is huge. She also MUST have another stable dog, MUST have a secure above ground fenced yard with direct access to the yard from the house, MUST have someone home more than the typical working family, and a home with NO kids under the age of 16. Sadly, after a year, she is now talking treats from us, and will occasionally let us pet her head. No aggression, just terrified of people.  We are still learning about Ivy but we do know she is very fearful of everything right now. You can tell she WANTS to get love but she is very hesitant and when one of the volunteers was able to pet her (once), she laid down in fear. Ivy has only known the small confines of a kennel, so this new world she has been introduced to is very scary for her. She finds comfort in other dogs as when she is in the play area with volunteers, she was very indifferent and not so interested in people, but when she is outside with some other dogs, she will get excited and bounce around some.  We know we need to get her out of the kennel so she can begin her new journey in life. She needs to find a forever family or foster family that is excited to show her what love and compassion are about. Ivy's rehabilitation is going to take time... things can not be rushed for her. As said above, she is going to need to have a stable dog living in the home so they can show her the ropes and help build her confidence in everything, especially people. Ivy is considered a flight risk, and will need a home with a secure above ground fenced yard with direct access to the yard from the home. We do not know how she will be with kids and or chaos, so a home with no kids under the age of 16 is best and we do not know how she is with cats at this time.  If you want to be the one to show Ivy what life as a beloved family member is all about, please fill out an application: grrand.org/adopt GRRAND dogs are looking for their foster or adoptive homes in our current service area of Greater Louisville, Greater Lexington, or Greater Cincinnati and Dayton. Story
Nova is a 6 year old, 50lb, female Goldendoodle who is being surrendered because "She needs someone that can be with her more than I can. She has a lot of energy and needs a place to run around." Nova will need a home with a secure fenced yard so she can romp and play, and a new "bestie" in the home would be a bonus! Nova gets along well with other dogs and will need a family that can be committed to giving her the exercise and direction she needs to be a happy and healthy girl! Nova is crate trained and is in the crate when her people are gone to work and sleeps in it at night. She would love to have a home where she is not in the crate so much and get plenty of daily activity. She is a bit leary of strangers, but needs the right person who can help her work through that. We are still learning about Nova, but if you would like to meet this cutie, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##2337447##

Story
Enzo (black) and Kona (blonde) are bonded Goldendoodles. Enzo’s birthday is April 16, 2018, while Kona’s is May 4, 2018. They did not come from the same parents. Enzo was bred in Litchfield, Kentucky, and Kona was bred in Seymour, Indiana. They were acquired about two weeks apart and have not been separated since. Both dogs are fed Science Diet Sensitive Stomach turkey and rice (wet) food, along with sensitive stomach dry food. This diet was recommended by the vet due to their previous digestive issues when they were younger. They eat twice a day. At 5 AM and 5 PM, they are given one can of wet food, which is split between them, totaling approximately 175 grams, then the bowl is topped off with dry food until the total grams is 250. They also receive plenty of small treats when they potty and two larger treats at 9 AM and between 2 or 3 PM. The dogs were acquired for my spouse, but she has since left and does not want them anymore, so they must be rehomed to a home with a big yard.
