Story
If you hear Golden Doodle and think easy dog,we're here to challenge those assumptions. Meet 20-month old Hank. Hank has issues, but hey, dont we all? Well start with those issues and, after reading all that, youre still reading, boy, have we got a great dog for you! Before you read these, though, please know that Hank is super sweet, cuddly, a great playmate for playful housemates, and did we mention super sweet?? For the family that's willing to look past a few things, he'll be a loving, loyal, cuddly goofball who promises to always be happy to see you and accept you just as you are--just like he needs from you! #1. For starters, Hank has hip dysplasia, which, although it gives him a kind of wonky gait, doesnt seem to hurt him or slow him down. And luckily, there are medications and supplements that really help. #2. Hank has incontinence issues. He signed up for the Enhanced Front End package, but ended up with the Barely Functional back end kit. Were thinking it may be dueto the hipdysplasia and possibly some rear-end nerve damage. With a very strict schedule, his accidents in the house are pretty minimal now, but he does need to wear a diaper at night and needs to go out every few hours--he can't be home alone for a whole workday. The good news is that he loves everyone, so getting a dog walker should be no problem at all! #3. Hank really likes other dogs. He loves to play and has a goofy puppy spirit. But hes not crazy about the chaos that might come with living with lots of other needydogs. One or two dog siblings is enough, thank you very much. But playdates with friends are always a good time! #4. Hank would love to cuddle up to you on the couch and enjoy a good brushing, preferably while you're wearing black clothing, so his blonde fur will really stand out. Hank doesn't call it "shedding." He just thinks that the humans look cold without any fur, and he's got more than enough to share! (Seriously, though, this boy didn't get the "no-shedding" memo that many doodles get!) Still reading? Then you are a wonderful person and just might be worthy of this wonderful dog. Hank is 80 pounds of sweetness, just looking for a soft place to land and someone to love. He loves his toys, chews, and car rides. He walks like a dream on a leash (after the excited first few minutes). He loves cuddles and scratches. You like to hike? So does Hank! You like to settle down on the couch for cuddles? So does Hank! You like to play ball? So does Hank! You like to play chess? So does... well, Hank will make your chess partner feel welcome, he'll cheer you both on, and he'd love to share your snacks! We dont know much about his background, but were pretty sure it wasnt great. However, Hank is thriving in his foster home and hisissues are improving. With the right family thats ready to show him patience, consistency and love, Hank will always be perfect in his family's eyes! We ARE considering out-of-area applications for this special boy, but you will need to travel to southern NJ to meet him and complete an adoption. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application. Meetings will not be scheduled without an application. Please visit our website www.rogersrescues.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

Story
ARYA - 8 years old, Doodle Mix, 63lbs, Female (Spayed) Arya is available for Foster to Adopt. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the subject line ARYA if you are interested. Please read everything below and submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org if this pup seems like a good fit for your family :) Home Recommendation: Arya would be really happy in a home outside of the city. She would thrive in the suburbs! She would also be okay in a home in a more calmer part of the city where she has access to greenspace.. Arya is great with other dogs (outside of her home). She has no problem greeting dogs or hanging out with dogs but she can't live with anotehr dog as she is possesive of toys.  ARAYA is an Intermediate level adult dog. This means that ideally the adopter has primary dog ownership of a breed or energy level similar to this dog. At a minimum the adopter should have solid experience doing things like dog sitting, or fostering dogs of a similar breed. Adopters should be comfortable with taking care of this breed or similar breeds.  Thier Foster Parent Says: "Arya is such a good girl! The gentle not so giant. She is well trained and the most behaved foster dog we have looked after. She loves her walks and is very quick to form a new routine. Right now, we walk her early morning, a short lunch time trip when we can & a bigger walk in the evening. She is a great walker. She keeps pace & sometimes stops for a sniff around. She also will only relieve herself outside on a patch of grass or dirt. She loves going to parks & being surrounded by grass. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by the presence of other dogs in parks or on the sidewalks. If she’s feeling extroverted, she might smell them but most of the time she is more interested in walking, or in other humans. However, she does not like feeling cornered by other dogs: on rare occasions she may bark. She is treat motivated and she knows a trick or two that she will do in exchange (sit, stay, paw). She is most relaxed when sitting in the living room with her humans just watching TV. Arya is funny about certain sounds.. sometimes she doesn't like loud exhausts on cars or unidentified sounds but not always (doors closing people outside screaming etc). She also is weary of skateboards/rollerbladers or electric scooters but only when they are loud. All in all she is a really good girl.. she has never snapped or barked at her foster parents and she doesn’t beg for food (just hopefully looks at you eating). She loves to play with her toys - Her favorite game is tug of war and she will not chew anything outside of her toys. But toys may have a short shelf life! We’ve recently discovered that she loves eating & playing with ice cubes. She does get the occasional zoomies usually right before a walk or upon returning home. Arya is a really good dog, she just wants a stable environment & to feel at home." Energy Level  Medium - -  This dog will need a solid continuous 60 minute walk (at a minimum) in addition to potty breaks/relief walks/shorter walks. Working breed dogs were bred to do jobs so it’s super important to make sure that they get the right level of exercise and stimulation daily. Working breed dogs need more than just simply being “let out in the yard”. Cuddle Level Medium - - Arya is a medium level of cuddle bug. She loves to get attention from her people but doesn't need to be touched or cuddled 24/7.  Potty Training  Fully Potty Trained - - Arya is fully potty trained. She doesn't have accidents.  Comfy With Strangers  Yes - - Arya is very comfortable with strangers. Loves to say hi to new people.  Mouthy Behaviour  Past this point in her life - - She only chews on things she's supposed to like toys or bones. Keeps her mouth off of human limbs and isn't destructive.  Social With Children?  (ALWAYS requires supervision) Yes - - Arya is okay to be in a home with respectful kids. She is gentle.  Social With Dogs? Yes - - We know that this dog is good with other dogs. But, every dog has their own version of how much they want to engage with another dog. For example not every dog is going to love the dog park. It’s important to keep social interactions brief at first and work your way up as you get to know the dog more. Arya has no problem greeting dogs on the street!! She's great with socializing with other dogs (outside of the home). But, she is pocessive of toys so she can't live with another dog in the home.  Social With Cats? Not Sure - - We do not know if this dog is good with cats. Better to air on the side of caution and say no. We are able to cat test for approved adopters.  Leash Manners  Doing Great - - She's a mild puller but overall once she gets used to her people and routine she's pretty great on leash :)  Separation Anxiety  Nope - - fine being left home alone. Is calm and quiet waiting for your return.  Crate Trained Nope - - Her current foster parents aren't using a crate for her. She is respectful of the home and doesn't need it. She prefers to be where she can see her person but will sleep on floor or bed or couch PLEASE NOTE: This animal is not at the Social Tees office — all of our dogs and cats are in foster homes while they wait to find their forever families. :) If you’d like to apply to adopt this pet, please complete an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Because we are a small team and receive hundreds of applications each week, we are unable to respond to every application and every inquiry email, but we do our best. Please have patience! If your application is approved, you will for sure hear from us. If you have questions, please take a look at the Adoption and Fostering FAQs etc. on our website as all common questions are answered there. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we work to save these innocent lives!!  LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org; Instagram via @socialteesnyc; Facebook.com/socialteesanimalrescue

Story
Meet Dahlia! Dahlia is a 2 to 4 years old Golden Doodle that weighs 44 pounds. Dahlia truly could not be any sweeter or more docile. She is pretty shy meeting people for the first time but really all she wants is to be hugged or held and loved until she opens up a bit. Dahlia does wonderful in a crate and has been doing really well with saving potty time for outside but may still need a little more work with that. She will walk on a leash with patience and persuasion but needs some help feeling confident in her surrounding on a leash. Dahlia does great with all of the friends she has met including kids and dogs of all sizes and age, and even does well with the cats! Dahlia tested positive for lyme disease and anaplasmosis and she has been the recommended process for both immediately following the results. She also had detailed lab work sent in which was unremarkable. Dahlia had a dental cleaning at her recent vet visit. Interested in becoming a forever home for Dahlia? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Dahlia. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Dahlia the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
