We are only accepting applications from individuals who live within a 30-mile radius of Closter, NJ. Kiwi is an 11-month-old Goldendoodle who is looking for a new home because a child in his current family has severe allergies. He's expected to weigh around 70 pounds when fully grown. Kiwi is a friendly, playful boy who loves attention, interaction and spending time with his people. He enjoys going for walks and gets very excited when meeting other dogs. He's also housebroken! Kiwi is vaccinated but has not yet been neutered. He's looking for a loving family who can give him plenty of attention, exercise and playtime! ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Kobe is a very beautiful and handsome 2-year-old and 64-lb Doodle — but please read his description carefully, as he is a dog that needs consistent training with clear boundaries. Kobe was surrendered by a family with young children and his energy was too much for their growing family. When he first arrived at Pet Rescue, he was full of pent-up energy which resulted in excessive barking, jumping, and mouthiness. One of our volunteers took him under her wing and discovered that the best approach is to calm him first. Speaking to him in a soft, calm voice, petting him with soothing strokes, and rewarding calm behavior has made all the difference. When he is relaxed, he can go for a walk. High-value treats, reassurance, and calm pets help redirect him when passing people and other dogs. Once he trusts you, he is affectionate, calm, and much easier to handle. He walks nicely beside you, does not pull, and shows little reactivity. When he is overstimulated, he becomes jumpy and mouthy. Kobe will need regular exercise where he can run off his energy and then he enjoys quiet affection. He is intelligent, eager to please, and most of all, wants to be part of a family. Kobe is looking for a calm home (without young children) with a consistent daily routine that provides him with structure, boundaries, and exercise. My kids have moved out and my travel schedule has become so intense that I prefer that he has a loving home with more attention and (ball throwing) than I can give him. We originally adopted Lucky from NYC ACC. Lucky is a one year old goldendoodle. He is a very smart and affectionate dog that bonds with people fast. He loves to play with toys and eat treats especially chicken. He knows sit, stay and down. He loves to follow people from room to room. However, he is reactive when outside on walks and has a bite history that has broken skin. We are incredibly heartbroken that we have to rehome him but we do not have the time and resources to manage his behavior. We are looking for a experienced adopter that has the time, resources and patience to help him adjust to a new home, routine and any behavior modification training. He is not good with children and is friendly with most dogs. We are looking for a loving home that will be able to take care of Lucky and provide him with the consistent care and training he needs. Thankfully, a kind neighbor contacted the shelter after a few days, and Caesar is now ready for his next chapter. After a dna test we found out Caesar is 50/50 Poodle and Great Pyrenees. When he arrived, his coat was quite matted, but underneath it all was a healthy, happy boy who had clearly known love at some point—he’s already neutered and seems to be house trained. Caesar is friendly, gentle, and eager for attention. He’ll thrive with a family ready to give him the care, grooming, and affection he deserves.
