Story
Sonny is a 4-year-old, 56-pound Goldendoodle who has lived an extremely stressful life in Texas with a family not suited to his personality. He is a sweet, gentle, soulful boy who had endured 5 children tormenting him, and his owners would use a crate for punishment, instead of it being a place of calm and safety.
Thanks to an owner surrender to 4 Little Paws Rescue and a patient and loving foster family, this sweet boy is finally learning what it means to be safe, to be cherished, and to just be happy. At first, the change was scary and confusing, but he is blossoming more every day. Sonny first needed time to decompress and know he was safe. Now, he’s learning to trust and learning to love. And once he does, he loves with his whole heart, enjoying pets and belly rubs, not much of a kisser, but he loves being kissed.
He is shy at first with other dogs, but once adjusted, he co-exists nicely. Overall, Sonny prefers to be a quiet shadow who just wants to be near you. He is calm and well-behaved in a home. He is housebroken, and when home alone, he is trustworthy to roam freely. He loves going for walks and taking rides in the car, especially to get his favorite Puppuccino at Starbucks! He is also enjoying playtime, loves to play fetch, and this boy loves snacking on blueberries, LOL!
Sonny has shown to be very resilient and very smart. He learns quickly, and he’s a joy to be with. He would thrive in a calm home without children, and he adores the company of his adult people. It’s been beautiful to watch him come alive!
