Kobe is a very beautiful and handsome 2-year-old and 64-lb Doodle — but please read his description carefully, as he is a dog that needs consistent training with clear boundaries. Kobe was surrendered by a family with young children and his energy was too much for their growing family. When he first arrived at Pet Rescue, he was full of pent-up energy which resulted in excessive barking, jumping, and mouthiness. One of our volunteers took him under her wing and discovered that the best approach is to calm him first. Speaking to him in a soft, calm voice, petting him with soothing strokes, and rewarding calm behavior has made all the difference. When he is relaxed, he can go for a walk. High-value treats, reassurance, and calm pets help redirect him when passing people and other dogs. Once he trusts you, he is affectionate, calm, and much easier to handle. He walks nicely beside you, does not pull, and shows little reactivity. When he is overstimulated, he becomes jumpy and mouthy. Kobe will need regular exercise where he can run off his energy and then he enjoys quiet affection. He is intelligent, eager to please, and most of all, wants to be part of a family. Kobe is looking for a calm home (without young children) with a consistent daily routine that provides him with structure, boundaries, and exercise. Meet Oliver, aka Ollie ❤️ Ollie is almost 7 years old, but don’t let his age fool you — he still has the energy of a toddler! He is an incredibly affectionate, loving boy who wants nothing more than to be around his people and get attention 24/7. He loves cuddling, being included, and making his humans feel like they’re his whole world. Ollie absolutely loves kids and does well around other dogs. Ideally, we would love for him to go to a home where he can be the only dog, especially because he really enjoys having his person’s attention to himself. We’re looking for someone who has the space, time, patience, and love to give him the attention and activity he deserves. This is an extremely difficult decision for our family. Ollie has been a part of our lives for many years and is deeply loved. Unfortunately, I lost my job almost six months ago, and financially things have become extremely difficult for our household. We also recently moved into a much smaller apartment.

He's a big guy at 70 pounds, but he folds himself into the cutest little ball and wants nothing more than your love. When he's ready for pets, he nuzzles right into your lap, and he melts when you talk to him, touch him, and tell him he's a good boy (which he is, constantly). He's shy for the first couple of minutes with new people, gets his sniffs in, and then turns into a total cuddle bug with everyone. After just one week with me, Sutton has his routine down. He's up around 7 for a long morning walk, has a shorter stroll at lunch, another long walk in the evening, and a quick lap around the block before bed. By day three he was letting me know when he needed an extra potty trip. On walks he's a dream: he barely pulls, and he keeps glancing back at me to make sure he's going the right way. The sniffs and the new friends along the route are his favorite part. He's polite with other dogs, choosy about who he plays with, and smart enough to steer clear of any dog that seems unfriendly. City noise is still new to him (loud trucks can startle him), but he's settling in a little more every day. At home, Sutton is the ultimate work-from-home buddy. He plops down on his bed next to me and naps until it's time to go out, and some days he's so cozy I have to coax him up for his walk. He follows me from room to room because he just wants to be near his person. He ignores the couch but loves the foot of the bed at night, where he's a very considerate co-sleeper with no sprawling. He doesn't chew anything, doesn't guard his food or toys, and stays quiet when the doorbell rings. He isn't very food-motivated (peanut butter is a hard pass so far) and tends to save his meals for dinner, but he responds beautifully to his name, verbal cues, and praise. He's sweet, sensitive, and loyal, and he'll make someone a wonderful companion/" Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) We originally adopted Lucky from NYC ACC. Lucky is a one year old goldendoodle. He is a very smart and affectionate dog that bonds with people fast. He loves to play with toys and eat treats especially chicken. He knows sit, stay and down. He loves to follow people from room to room. However, he is reactive when outside on walks and has a bite history that has broken skin. We are incredibly heartbroken that we have to rehome him but we do not have the time and resources to manage his behavior. We are looking for a experienced adopter that has the time, resources and patience to help him adjust to a new home, routine and any behavior modification training. He is not good with children and is friendly with most dogs. We are looking for a loving home that will be able to take care of Lucky and provide him with the consistent care and training he needs.
