Story
Oliver was given to us by a family member who is a breeder in California. He does have another dog in the house they get along well. He is reactive on the leash with other dogs. We have tried several different collar options. He is reactive to noises very anxious does not like thunderstorms or fireworks. He is doing okay with our baby who is three months with supervision but does not do well with other children or people that have tried to enter the home and has had to be separated/blocked off. He knows basic commands (sit, out, shake). He loves attention and cuddles.

Story
Meet Piper Piper is a sweet 70 lb, 9 year old female Golden Doodle. She has lived with other dogs and with children (as young as newborn) and does just fine. She does well on walks and is generally calm. She is spade and up to date on all of her shots and vaccinations. Like all of us, Piper has some preferences and requirements: - She is allergic to dairy, beef and chicken. You’ll know she is having an issue if she licksherself excessively, which will turn parts of her fur orange. We use fish-based dry dog food and that works well. - She doesn’t “do stairs” particularly well - particularly going upstairs if there is a long rise. A few stairs is just fine. It is a long rise that, at least at present, gives her anxiety. She does walks just fine - it is only a long stair rise issue. Our “why” for seeking a new home for Piper: - We moved to a downtown home with stair rises of 15 stairs or greater, indoor and outdoor. - We have multiple trips planned now that we are entering retirement.

Story
Meet Gus (formerly Tuk Tuk), a 35-pound bundle of brains, curls, and cuddles! At 3 years old, this handsome moyen-sized Poodle (or maybe Poodle mix) has clearly been paying attention in obedience class. Gus knows sit, down, wait, come, and even has an impressive sit-stay-release. He's the kind of dog who politely waits for an invitation before hopping onto the couch... and then immediately transforms into a professional snuggle consultant.Gus is fully house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and even enjoys a good game of fetch. One of his cutest quirks is his fantastic eye contact—he'll stare at you like he's waiting for detailed instructions on how to be the world's best dog. (Spoiler alert: he's already pretty close.)Like many sensitive and intelligent dogs, Gus has a protective side. After his previous adopter welcomed a baby, Gus decided he needed to apply for the position of Head of Household Security. Unfortunately, he took the job a little too seriously. In his foster home, this has been easily managed by having him relax in his crate when visitors first arrive. Once he realizes no one is invading the kingdom, he's happy to come out and make friends.Gus can also be a little unsure when meeting new dogs, especially when leashes or barriers are involved. The good news? Treats and positive guidance work wonders. His focus on his people is incredible, and he's eager to look to them for direction. He's successfully attended doggy daycare and visits the groomer without any issues. He could thrive as an only dog soaking up all the attention, or with a well-balanced canine companion who can help him feel confident.Because Gus has nipped visitors in the past when they entered his home, we think he'd do best in a home without young children. He's looking for a confident, consistent leader who understands that dogs need time to decompress and adjust to new environments. Give Gus clear communication, structure, and a little patience, and he'll reward you with loyalty, affection, and enough cuddles to last a lifetime. To help set everyone up for success, the amazing trainers at Dayton Dog Den have generously offered two free training sessions with Gus's adoption! It is believed that his undesirable behaviors can be corrected with consistant training. He has such a desire to please his people!Gus is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.Adoption fee: $310Ready to meet your new best friend, couch buddy, and part-time security supervisor?
