Story

Meet Walter! Walter is about 3 years old, and we’re guessing he’s some sort of mini doodle or poodle mix. He currently weighs about 25 pounds and won’t get much bigger. Whatever he is, he’s a pretty handsome little guy, even if he’s currently sporting a very short haircut. Walter came to us in pretty rough shape. Someone had tied rubber bands around his wrists, and they had become embedded in his skin, leaving deep wounds. On top of that, his coat was in such bad condition that we had to completely shave him down. Thankfully, Walter doesn’t seem too concerned about his unfortunate hairstyle or what he’s been through. He’s a happy, energetic, playful little guy who loves attention and is ready to find a family of his own. Walter does well with other dogs and doesn’t seem too interested in cats. He likes kids, too, although smaller children might not appreciate his enthusiasm since he does have a habit of jumping. We’re working on reminding him that all four feet can, in fact, remain on the floor at the same time. His hair will grow back, his wounds will heal, and we’re hoping the next chapter of his life is a whole lot better than the last. Walter is looking for a family who understands that doodles need grooming, exercise, attention, and some manners. Being cute is not a substitute for training, although Walter would probably disagree. Walter is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly preventatives. We require a complete and approved adoption application before scheduling an in-home meet and greet. Applicants must live within a one-hour driving distance of Cleveland, Ohio. Apply at onek9.net/apply. Apply to adopt on GetBuddy

Finley

Goldendoodle

Female, Adult

Plain City, OH

Size

(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less

Details

Good with kids, Not good with dogs, House-trained,

Story

Finley is a sweet, loving dog. She has a lot of love to give and has been a wonderful part of our family. She is an 8 year old miniature Goldendoodle weighing 15 pounds. She is very friendly and is a big people person. She has caused no issues with our small children and is perfectly content keeping to herself and laying on the couch. She loves traveling and going places and is excited the entire ride there. She can be timid around other dogs for the most part so she would likely do best either with another smaller dog or alone. She can be anxious during storms and may need some extra reassurance when there is thunder or severe weather. With two young children at home, nighttime has become a little challenging for our family, and we want to find Finley a home that is a better fit for her needs would be best for everyone. We want to find someone who will love her, be patient with her, and give her the happy home she deserves. Being a Goldendoodle, she will need groomed regularly.

Theodore

Goldendoodle

Pickerington, OH

Size

(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Details

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,

Story

Meet Theo! He’s about 5 years old and has been my buddy since 2021, when an old roommate brought him home as a puppy and quickly realized puppy life wasn’t for them. Theo LOVES people. We host D&D groups 2–3 times a month, so he’s used to a house full of people and settles in once the excitement wears off. He’s affectionate without being clingy, loves nuzzling his face into you, and if you open your arms and say “Hug,” he’ll stand up and wrap his paws around you. He’s playful when invited, but honestly he’s a huge sleepyhead and spends half the day curled up on his designated couch. He loves running in a fenced yard, chasing squirrels and bunnies, and would thrive with another medium/large dog. He’s healthy, kennel trained, great with kids, and not much of a beggar... though a French fry may change his loyalty forever lol. We’re downsizing this spring and want Theo to have the space and companionship he loves. We adore him and will be selective about finding the right home.
