Story
Meet our lovely Blondie! She is a 4- year-old Great Dane mix who weighs about 60 pounds. Blondie is extraordinarily resilient and has a special rescue story, which we encourage you to read at https://www.crossingpathsanimalrescue.org/rescue-stories/blondie-and-her-litter. She was picked up by animal control while nursing her 10 puppies. Such a devoted mother, she nursed the pups while she was just skin and bones. Since coming to rescue, Blondie has grown to a more ideal weight! She was quick to show her foster how smart she is by responding to the commands “sit” and “shake!' She loves walking on leash but will need a strong hand to guide her. Blondie loves all sizes of other dogs; however, we are unsure of how she will respond to cats and children. (ME, 7/11/23)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption Fee/Transport Fee: $250.00  We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.    May 23, 2024, 12:56 pm

Story
Meet Sunshine Louise! This beautiful Anatolian Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix is super sweet and wants to be your best friend. She currently weights about 90 lbs. She is house trained (she will ring bells on the back door to go outside). She is very well behaved and does not require a crate indoors. Sunshine is a very, very laid back girl….until she feels the need to guard her home. We are unsure of her age, but the guess is around 6 years old. She is smart and very treat motivated. She loves to go on walks especially first thing in the morning and after the sun goes down. She LOVES people and kids! She is good with other dogs as long as they respect her boundaries. She easily integrates into a pack, but remains kind of a loner. She is spayed, (after having 10 puppies), microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. She has also completed Heart Worm treatment. Sunshine loves belly rubs and pets. She will look lovingly and longingly into your eyes like she knows that her life has been saved and she is so very grateful. She is a very calm girl who prefers to lay on the cool floor. She is a “guardian” breed and will quietly take up a position (usually in a doorway) and just relax. She knows basic commands but does have a stubborn streak. Usually a treat will encourage her to follow your directions. Sunshine does have a high prey drive, so no cats or tiny toy breeds please. She also has a history of fence jumping to pursue wildlife, so a privacy fence would be ideal. If you would like to meet this precious girl and make her part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Sunshine is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.

Story
Noel is ready for her forever family! Her brother, Nicholas, is in his forever home and now it’s her turn 💜 This cutie is a 7 month-old Anatolian Shepherd mix. She is a little shy when she first meets new people but warms up quickly with the promise of treats! Either a few treats, Noel will do just about anything 😝 Noel is good on leash and in her crate! She is fostered by a working family, so she is used to being kenneled while her family is gone. She is great with other pups but does best in a small group play setting, she thinks dog parks are overwhelming! She loves to play, but also loves to snuggle up on the couch 🥰 With a love for cuddling and a playful spirit, she'd thrive in a family that enjoys both. She is potty & crate trained and sits on cue! She is very treat-driven which makes her so much fun to train. Whether as a single dog receiving lots of love or part of a furry friend group, Noel is ready to bring joy to her forever home. 🐾🩷 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Are you looking for a snuggly, sweet, BIG girl? Then Alice is the one for you! 😍 Alice is 5 months old and around 35-40lbs, so while she’s smaller than her brother Tee, it’s not by much! She must take after her Anatolian shepherd dad in her size, and we know her mama so we see where her sweet temperament comes from 🥰 Alice is the most mild-mannered of her siblings, but is just as social as the rest! She loves attention from human and other dogs alike, and we think she’d do well in a home with or without other dogs, as long as there’s lots of love & affection for her! 🐶 Alice is intelligent and eager to please. She is the kind of pup that will bond to her humans for life! She has been in a foster home, but is now in boarding since her foster moved, and that’s no place for a big puppy to grow up! If you’re looking for a buddy that’s equal parts adventure and snuggles, Alice is your girl 🐾 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
