Story
Meet Duchess, a little pup who will one day be a dog of great stature!  And by stature, we mean that Duchess is going to be extremely tall! To our surprise, a breed test done on Duchess’s brother Duke indicated that the litter could be 100 percent Great Dane.  Duchess and her siblings were dumped as tiny puppies near a busy road, so we don’t know anything about the parents and have no way of knowing if the breed results are 100 percent accurate. But the pups have been growing at a rapid pace and will definitely be very large dogs. As of July 1, Duchess is approximately eight weeks old and already weighs 16 pounds.  Duchess does seem to have the wonderful qualities and temperament of a Great Dane. She is loyal, affectionate, friendly and calm — a gentle giant in the making. She follows her foster mom everywhere and already climbs on the couch to sit in her lap. Duchess has a promising future as a couch potato and lap dog.  Duchess is looking for a forever family who understands the complexities of owning a very large dog. She also still has a lot of basic skills to learn, so she will need a home that can finish up the work of potty training and crate training. But Duchess is sure to be a loving and loyal companion for the right family. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Rufus is the sweetest dog! He is 3 years old, we got him and his sister Maeva (who is also up for adoption, she is black) together at Pell City animal hospital when they were 8 weeks old in December of 2023. We were told that their mother came in with the owner the day they were brought in and she was a full bread Great Dane, and the father was said to be a German Shepard. He had all of his shots at 6 months, but has not had any since. He loves the outdoors and is an outside dog, but loves to come inside as well, but definitely needs space to get his energy out! He loves kids, other animals and is such a good boy and extremely loyal! These babies were supposed to be our forever dogs, but due to circumstances out of our control and out of theirs, we have no other choice but to find a new home for them. I know youll love Rufus as much as we do! If you are looking for two, we’d love them to stay together, but understand that may not be possible!

Story
Asta is firmly planted in the "awwww he's so cute" category and would certainly be soaking up all the petting if he wasn't shy about being in the spotlight . He’s an under-the-radar kind of heartthrob who dreams of living large, he just needs low-key cheerleading, and high value treats to help him find his groove. He'll live his best life having a doggie friend for confidence and play. If yours would like a brother,he could be the missing link to your pack! As a devoted member of the "Girls Club" he has a soft spot for the ladies being a mama’s boy through and through. If you have a fondness for a bashful boy, Asta would appreciate the chance to charm his way into your heart. Cared for in a foster home, he's crate/house trained, good with cats, fenced yard essential. Est. birthdate is 10/20/2024, 50 lbs., his $300 adoption fee includes vaccines up to date, neuter and microchip.

Story
Meet Cooper! Hes a 1 year old Great Dane/Pointer mix with the sweetest personality and the cutest goofy side. Cooper is friendly, affectionate, and loves being part of whatever youre doing. He enjoys toys, chew bones, and hanging out with his people, but he also has a playful side and would love another dog to romp around with or a couple of walks each day to burn off some energy. He walks well on a leash and is doing great with both crate training and house training. Cooper gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids, making him an easy fit for many different kinds of families. Hes neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to find a forever home of his own.

Story
Meet Oliver – The Gentle Giant with a Big Heart  Oliver is a handsome 10-year-old Great Dane/Pointer mix who weighs about 75 lbs. He’s a big boy with an even bigger heart! Oliver gets along wonderfully with dogs and kids of all ages, though he’s not a fan of cats. He’s currently polishing his skills — working on sit, stay, kennel, and no jumping, along with crate training and housebreaking. This smart, eager-to-please boy just wants to make his humans proud! Oliver’s story began when he and his 10 siblings were found in a box by a mailbox at only 10 days old. Most of his littermates found homes right away, but somehow Oliver was overlooked — and he’s been patiently waiting ever since for the family that’s meant to be his. Oliver has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and is heartworm negative. Adoption Fee: $250 If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s full of life and affection, Oliver is ready to fill your home with joy — he’s waited long enough for his happily ever after! July 26, 2026, 3:06 pm
