Story
Weight ~ 52 lbs**Adoption Fee sponsored by Loren Morse, Realtor**This is Rooster. And his ears rule the roost. He`s a regal, tall, slender, and athletic 3-year-old mutt mosaic. At just over 50 pounds, behold a beautiful mix of breeds that we can only guess. In his previous home, he completed obedience training and was very quick to learn new things. He mastered basic commands such as sit, stay, lay down, off, out, heel, come, and paw. He`s also crate trained (he loves it), and potty trained. Rooster is super sweet, loving, and very loyal to his people -- and has made many friends with our staff and volunteers. He`s also made a few dog friends here at the shelter and is a regular participant in our playgroup program with dogs of his size or larger. That said, we`ve heard he can be a little TOO interested in cats and smaller animals. We also recommend a home without small kids (older teenage kiddos might be okay). Rooster was in a foster home to get a break from the shelter. His foster did a great job working with him on all things dog, here`s what they had to say about him: `Out and about, Rooster is full of joy — greeting old shelter friends with happy dances and enthusiasm, walking mostly on a loose leash, and recovering from excitement much faster than before. He is learning polite greetings on walks, trails, and beach outings (even if squirrels still tempt him).At home, Rooster is an absolute dream: fully housebroken, trustworthy when left alone, cuddly, calm, and a champion sunbather. He settles quickly with visitors, takes treats gently, is easy to medicate, and loves nothing more than being close to his people.`Doesn`t he sound like a wonderful dog? It`s because he is! If you`d like to meet Rooster, please call the Adoptions desk Tue-Sun 11-5 so we can coordinate a meet & greet!

Story
💙Meet Gus💙 This handsome fella is a Great Dane/ Catahoula mix! He is about 90 lbs. Despite his size, he is a lap dog and cuddle bug! He is a lover of squishy toys and playing keep away, adventurous, hysterical, larger than life personality, loyal and gentle. He loves other dogs and people. We have spent the last months together learning how to “dog.” Gus is completely deaf, and at first, was a bit overwhelmed with everything here at the ranch. We have spent hours up in the hills, been consistent with training and our routine, he’s learned to read cues and has gained so much confidence from Mama Dog and Fin. He now relies on his other senses, and instead of becoming frantic or overwhelmed, trusts the process. He trusts us, and more importantly, himself. He reads hand cues, and currently knows sit, down, “look” and come. Gus hasn’t been tested with cats, but he has reptile and horse friends alike. He is extremely gentle, but does have “young pup” energy and will need continued training and support. He would do best in a home with somebody home most of the time, or a patient and friendly dog friend to keep him company. Being that he is deaf, he finds comfort feeling a prescience and will look for that most all the time. He is healthy and fully vetted. Please share this wonderful gem of a dog! Gus will be neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Gus is about 1 year old. Send in your adoption application today!
