Story
Judy is a 1.5-year-old black and white Great Dane. She still has a lot of puppy in her and loves to run around the yard, play with her toys, and interact with other dogs. She loves attention and will monopolize it. She has never shown aggression to our cats or children, but does need to be reminded of her size when playing often. She is trained in the basic commands (sit, wait, drop it) and knows the command "go home" to return to her crate. She is fully house-trained and has learned to use bells to let you know she needs to go outside, but may need a reminder of how that works. She is a very loving and sweet girl who gets very upset when she knows she has done something to upset you. When left alone for too long, she is destructive in the form of digging and chewing. We are looking for a home that can provide a lot of space for her to run around and will have the capacity to give the attention she craves. The rehoming fee includes her crate, cot, and remaining heartworm medication.

Story
Bane is a handsome Great Dane who is approximately 6 years old (his exact age is unknown). We adopted him from a family who could no longer care for him, so unfortunately we don’t know much about his life before coming to us.Bane is an affectionate, goofy, and loving giant who enjoys being close to his people. He loves attention, happily leans in for pets, and is content to curl up beside you for a nap. Like many Great Danes, he doesn’t realize just how big he is and has a playful, energetic personality. It breaks our hearts to rehome him, but we’ve realized that our home isn’t the right fit. Because of his size and limited impulse control, Bane has had incidents of clumsy playful contact and overexcitement around our 7 y/o child, so we are committed to finding him a home where everyone can be safe and successful. We believe he would do best with experienced large-breed owners in an adult-only home, or a home with older teenagers who understand how to interact with large dogs.

Story
Name: Sunflower aka Psych (also responds to Psy)Breed: Pitbull/Lab + Dogo ArgentinoSex/Age/Weight: Female/ DOB 04/12/2023 /83lbsVetting: Up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventatives House trained/Crate Trained: I stay in an outside kennel most of the time, but when I come in I do very well in my crate.Dogs/Cats/Children: I love other dogs and adults, anyone who can play with me. I haven’t had any interactions with children, but I love to play with anybody. The biggest concern would be my size – I am a very tall, muscular dog. I have not been observed around cats, but I can be tested upon requestEnergy Level: Medium-high. I could play an endless game of fetch, but when playtime is over I like to be showered with pets. Before FAR/My History: I am a FAR pup who was adopted out as a puppy and stayed with my owner until November 2024. Due to no fault of my own, my prior adopter could not keep me and turned me into a shelter. I was on the euthanasia list until FAR found out and brought me back into the program. I spent the holidays with my new foster family learning how to be part of the pack. I have several foster siblings from FAR – Schultz, Sheila aka Havoc, Oscar, Java, Weebles, and Wobbles – and I get to play with my foster’s personal dogs too, so I have a wide range of experience with different breeds. My former name was Sunflower, but that did not fit me well in my new home. I got my new name because I am very intimidating from afar, but as soon as you get close enough to know me *PSYCH* I am just a bundle of love and happiness!Training Status/Commands I know: I recall very well to the training collar beep, I will “sit” for you sometimes but I really don’t know why you would ask me to, and I am very good at bringing the ball/toy back for fetch. Things I like: Fetch! I love chasing a ball or toy or anything that you will throw to me. I do like playing with the other dogs if the human is too busy to play fetch, but I would prefer an hours-long game of fetch. When I play with the dogs, I want them to chase me while I have a ball in my mouth.I get along well with all the dogs that I live with, but my favorites by far are an older male pit and a male German Shepherd who are around my age. I love car rides and trips to the store.Things I don’t like: I don’t like to be left out if others are out playing. I really don’t like large trash cans or similar shapes that stand very still…it freaks me out. Also blow-up Christmas decorations make me uneasy.Things that make my humans happy: My perseverance and intelligence – I was plucked out of the only home I have ever known and put into a completely different atmosphere, and even though I had to take it slowly at first, I adapted to my new home so well. That is how I process everything: first I will probably growl/bark at something new, but after I ease into it, I learn it’s not so bad. I have met so many people and dogs and new things since I returned to FAR and (with the exception of the trash cans and an inflatable Santa) I have learned to love them all.Ideal Family/Home: Because of my size and strength, I would probably do better with adults and older kids/teens. I am a young dog, and I’ve got a lot of energy. I also have a big voice – my bark is deep and my whine is high-pitched. I don’t always use them, but when I do they are loud so a home with no sensitive ears/neighbors is probably best. I also have little sense of personal space so if you are in the market for an athletic, 83lb lap dog, look no further! If you are interested in giving Sunflower aka Psych a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. Spotecus is a high energy, fun loving puppy who's only goal in life is to PLAY! He loves to play with toys, try to get the cats to play with him, and go kennel to kennel greeting all of the dogs in the shelter like they're his personal best friend. He is very sassy, has no problem making his opinions known with a huff and foot stomp if something displeases him, and will absolutely make you laugh every step of the way of knowing him. Interested in Adopting? - Meet and greets are required for all resident dogs - Adoption application required - Applications are available on our facebook page: Peach County Animal Control
