Story
Meet Neko! This handsome boy was surrendered to the shelter on 6/27 after his former family realized they weren't prepared for a dog of his size and strength. Neko is a big, powerful dog who will thrive with a confident, kind adopter willing to continue working on his leash manners. He already knows how to sit and lie down on cue, and his previous family reported that he is house-trained, crate-trained, and good with children. If you're looking for a loyal companion and have room in your heart (and your home!) for a gentle giant, Neko could be the perfect match. Neko is approximately 4.5 years old, and weighs 145 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and has been microchipped. Neko will be neutered upon adoption. Unfortunately, Neko did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care he can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while he receives treatment. Nelo is waiting patiently in kennel 23; his ID # is 20377. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Bear is very playful and goofy and a beautiful dog. He is skittish with strangers. He will be 3 years old in August of 2026. We have him because we had a litter of puppies from our Great Dane and Anatolian/pyrenees mix, and we decided to keep him because he was so attached to his mom, and for a while it was fine. We had to move though, and they are in a much smaller space unfortunately, and now him and our other dogs do not get along at all. With them all being such large dogs it gets pretty scary, to the point that we cannot take good care of our other dogs because they get territorial over us with each other whenever we enter the kennel. I do not want to take him to a shelter, but it is to the point that we have to remove him from the situation. He is such a sweet dog with us, but we cannot give him the time or attention he needs to thrive, so we want to find him a good home.

Story
Bane is a handsome Great Dane who is approximately 6 years old (his exact age is unknown). We adopted him from a family who could no longer care for him, so unfortunately we don’t know much about his life before coming to us.Bane is an affectionate, goofy, and loving giant who enjoys being close to his people. He loves attention, happily leans in for pets, and is content to curl up beside you for a nap. Like many Great Danes, he doesn’t realize just how big he is and has a playful, energetic personality. It breaks our hearts to rehome him, but we’ve realized that our home isn’t the right fit. Because of his size and limited impulse control, Bane has had incidents of clumsy playful contact and overexcitement around our 7 y/o child, so we are committed to finding him a home where everyone can be safe and successful. We believe he would do best with experienced large-breed owners in an adult-only home, or a home with older teenagers who understand how to interact with large dogs.

Meet Tigris! 🤎🐾Tigris is a beautiful 1-year-old brindle Great Dane mix who came to us as a stray and has already proven herself to be an incredibly sweet and loving girl. She arrived with her puppies and has done an amazing job caring for them—now it’s finally her turn for a fresh start and a life of her own. This gentle girl is all about affection. She’s still young, eager to bond, and ready to experience what it means to be part of a family. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. Story
MEET STELLA: They say the stars are always watching — and Stella takes that very personally. This merle Great Dane puppy is named for the stars, and she shines like one. With a stunning coat, Stella is impossible to overlook — not that she'd ever let you try. She runs with the big dogs without a second thought, because in her mind, she already is one. She's sharp as a tack, notices absolutely everything, and has plenty of opinions she'd love to share with you. Loudly. Repeatedly. With great enthusiasm. But at the end of the day, what Stella wants most is you. Your lap, your attention, your heart — she's collecting all of it, one soulful gaze at a time. Bold, beautiful, and just a little bit extra — Stella came into this world with something to say, and she's just getting started. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Ruff Dog Rescue—Turning RUFF Starts into New Beginnings.  ##2752496##
