Story
Meet Boone – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start Boone is a striking Great Dane and Black Mouth Cur mix at 65 pounds with soulful eyes and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. Rescued after being abandoned on the roadside, Boone's past suggests he was used as a hunting dog and likely spent much of his life confined to a kennel. This history has left him shy and cautious at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, Boone reveals his deeply affectionate side. Once he begins to trust, Boone becomes a devoted companion who craves gentle affection and enjoys peaceful moments with his person. He thrives in a calm environment and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions and would benefit from a home with another friendly dog to help boost his confidence. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Boone is looking for a foster or forever home in Central Texas only. He needs a loving, understanding family who can help him continue to blossom at his own pace. His ideal adopter would be someone familiar with hounds or someone who appreciates the gentle, loyal nature of these incredible breeds. If you're a hound enthusiast or simply someone with a kind heart and a quiet home, Boone may be the perfect match for you. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone who sees his potential and will offer the love and patience he’s never known before. Boone is ready to start again. Story
Welcome Reesaw to CCPAL Rescue. She is an 18-month-old Great Dane mix dog. She weighs in at 102 pounds. She is good with other dogs and came in with an older Great Dane named Planter. Reesaw does pull on leash but we will be working with that. She is moderately active and would be fine with a moderately active family. She is a good balance between active and couch potato. She is good with people and will bond deeply with her person. Great Danes are typically a little shy and they warm up and bond deeply to their family. She does fit this characteristic. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Someone who has owned an XL dog or a Great Dane would be preferable. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Breaker is up for adoption in TX, NE and PNW (excluding MA)! Breaker is a 1-year-old, 65-pound Great Dane/Boxer mix with a heart as big as his goofy grin. This splash-happy pup LOVES the water—whether he’s chasing toys into the pool, splashing through a creek, or just romping around the yard, Breaker is always up for adventure. With the playful energy of a Boxer and the gentle, loyal nature of a Dane, he’s the best of both worlds—equal parts fun and affection. Breaker is dog-friendly (with pups his size), loves people, and is happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s making great progress with crate training and is learning his puppy manners, especially when treats are involved. Breaker wasn't given much structure as a pup so, Breaker sometimes tries to play bite to get his way. Even after a board-and-train program, he will need a family committed to consistent, positive reinforcement training to help him reach his full potential. Breaker would thrive in an active home with space to play and maybe even a doggy sibling to share his adventures with. If you’re looking for a loyal, silly, water-loving companion who will keep you laughing and fill your days with joy, Breaker is your guy! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Meet Ghost Ghost is a loving, playful, and downright charming pup who brings a sweet mix of goofiness and affection everywhere he goes. His foster mom says he has this adorable habit of “cat-rubbing” on your legs—he’ll gently lean or wiggle against you just like a cat asking for love. It’s impossible not to smile when he does it. This boy is still very much a puppy at heart. He loves to play, plop himself right onto your feet, and even sit on his dog friends’ faces mid-playtime (they don’t seem to mind—he’s just being Ghost!). He soaks up attention, enjoys being close, and always finds a way to sneak in a cuddle. Ghost is amazing with other dogs and great with kids. He’s also been around horses and ducks and does wonderfully with them too! His gentle spirit really shines around all kinds of animals. He can be a little skittish with loud noises, but his reaction is just to duck his head and trot to his kennel for a sense of safety. With reassurance and consistency, he’ll continue growing more confident. Ghost is sweet, funny, social, and full of love—everything you could want in a companion. He’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and loyalty to a forever family of his very own. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NASD/Dog

Story
Hi, this is Lucy. She was adopted with her brother Cooper from A Canine Gem Rescue. Sadly, the rescue was closed down shortly after I adopted them. Lucy and if you adopt her brother Cooper as well, need to be the only dogs in the home. I have tried very hard for the last 2 years to get all of the dogs in the house to get along and having to do this breaks my heart. I wanted to be up front with this information first. Lucy loves belly rubs. She likes sleeping in bed with her human and cuddling on the couch as well. She loves to run around the backyard and likes to put her paws in the pool and play in the snow as well. She is spayed. I have no experience with Lucy with children under the age of 11. Some background on Lucy: Her and her brother Cooper, were in a trailer alone for 3 months after their owner passed, fed once a week by a friend of the owner until neighbors complained and they were removed. Lucy prefers to be crated when home alone. They are bonded, prefer adoption together.
