Story
Dane is a stunning blue merle great dane mix. He is about 8 months old and great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. He was rescued from a small rural shelter where he was slated to be euthanized due to time and space. He is a chill dude who likes to nap, go on walks and hang with his friends. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue(copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Sirius is a big, lovable Great Dane looking for a home that can give him the time and attention he deserves. He is a gentle giant with a sweet personality and an easygoing nature. About Sirius: Very affectionate and friendly with people Goofy and fun to watch Enjoys galloping around the yard Loves chewing on toys Naturally calm and somewhat of a couch potato Does not jump and is respectful of space A bit skittish in new environments or with sudden movements Has a strong prey drive and will chase (and has killed) porcupines. Sirius is being rehomed due to lack of time, not because of behavioral problems. His owner wants to ensure he finds a home that can give him the attention, structure, and companionship he needs. Ideal Home: Someone with experience handling large-breed dogs and the ability to manage a dog with prey drive. A home with a secure yard, would be best.

Story
Hello Future Family!! My name is DESIREE and I am a lovable 4 year old AKC registered Great Dane. I came into the rescue a very skinny girl but I have filled out nicely with the wonderful meals I have received. I am looking for my forever family - my foster parents love me but they said they have many doggies that need their help too. I love affection and laps, stuffed toys and my Nyla bones. I don't hate other dogs but my foster mom said I would be best as an only dog because I get jealous - sorry we all have our hang-ups. I am crate trained, house trained and extremely loving. Please send an email to my foster mom @ Sbanimalrescue@yahoo.com and tell her you have a soft spot for a big mush like me - I am waiting for you. Applications can be found on our website www.starbrightanimalrescue.org or please e-mail sbanimalrescue@yahoo.com for an application for DESIREE. We try to respond to ALL inquiries so, please check your junk mailbox if, you're waiting to hear from us.

Story
This is Snickers, the gentle easy going 5-year-old Great Dane and Poodle mix that is ready to steal your heart and maybe a few squeaky balls along the way! Weighing in at 123 pounds, making him a giant-sized dog. (yes, he is a big guy, and he is all love). Snickers was a beloved family pet whose owners realized they could not give him the attention he deserves due to job changes and increasing family demands.Snickers is a calm, submissive and low-keyed buddy who has mastered the art of being a relaxed companion. Snickers enjoys being with other dogs, but due to his size, a household with older children may be best. Snickers has not had the opportunity to meet any cats, so it is unknown how he will be with them.Snickers is house and crate trained. It is important to remember that although Snickers is house trained, accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. Snickers already knows his come, sit, down, stay and shake paws. He is basically a four-star pup with a few tricks up his sleeve. He loves being brushed (his version of a spa day) and water (who does not like a good splash?). Snickers leash training is in process, and he would benefit from continuing this important training. If you are looking for a big loveable goofball, who is more about cuddles than chaos, Snickers may be your new best friend. Come and meet him and see if he is the right fit for your family!* Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust significantly better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Snickers is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.December 7, 2025, 6:07 am

Story
Meet Boone – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start Boone is a striking Great Dane and Black Mouth Cur mix at 65 pounds with soulful eyes and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. Rescued after being abandoned on the roadside, Boone's past suggests he was used as a hunting dog and likely spent much of his life confined to a kennel. This history has left him shy and cautious at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, Boone reveals his deeply affectionate side. Once he begins to trust, Boone becomes a devoted companion who craves gentle affection and enjoys peaceful moments with his person. He thrives in a calm environment and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions and would benefit from a home with another friendly dog to help boost his confidence. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Boone is looking for a foster or forever home in Central Texas only. He needs a loving, understanding family who can help him continue to blossom at his own pace. His ideal adopter would be someone familiar with hounds or someone who appreciates the gentle, loyal nature of these incredible breeds. If you're a hound enthusiast or simply someone with a kind heart and a quiet home, Boone may be the perfect match for you. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone who sees his potential and will offer the love and patience he’s never known before. Boone is ready to start again.
